We can always scare him with our alien looks and tell him we'll devour him mercilessly if he doesn't fly us away. He'll most likely believe it. I would.

But if we mind-enslave him that means we have a pilot and light aircraft at our disposal, which will probably be easier in the future than sneaking on/paying for flights on major airlines. Actually, forget all about even trying to be normal on the flight, just mindcontrol the pilot as soon as we enter the plane, before we taxi for takeoff (I imagine that having the pilot black out or whatever during takeoff wouldn't be the best of things). Plus, if we just reveal ourselves and threaten him, the first thing he'll do is go to the authorities, as soon as we get off. So at that point either the gvt. knows about us and considers us to be hostile, or they find a partially eaten corpse in a plane.

Hmm... Our minion should have a backpack somewhere.

That should be our first priority.

Second priority -
Basic needs:
If we wish to leave Alaska before winter, we either fly or take a boat.
I recommend flying.
Therefor, we should have some rations stocked up.
Food: Preserved meat would be easiest to do, but fresh is not impossible, we'd just need an insulated bag and some ice.
Water: A large bottle, preferably a 1-gallon container at the least.
Travel: Have the guy take us to the local airport after we have what we need.
When we arrive, find a suitable three-seater.
Mind control a pilot (Preferably the owner of said three-seater).
And off to...

We're in Alaska. I would think that a lizard creature such as ourselves would be happy on or near the equator. Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia, Panama, and other south/central american countries fit the bill nicely.

You open the door to your human friend's house and step in to find him watching tv. He's got a glazed look on his face, your control must be destroying his mind. These humans seem to have rather weak mental strength, his brain power has reduced tenfold since you first saw him. He doesn't even notice you as you walk in. After some more searching, you find a hiking backpack and fill it with your supplies. Suddenly, you hear a loud bang towards the front of the house. From what you can see, someone's banging on the front door.

After telepathically inspecting the human banging on the door, you find that he's a disgruntled ranger who's been sent because of public disturbance. You hear him yell "Police, open the door!" You could use a significant amount of tp to repair your mind-slaves brain structure, or you could just manipulate the police officer. Or you could eat your sunglasses, it's up to you!
