Oh, by the way. For the ridiculous contest, I will be submitting an intelligent greatsword with psion levels and Leadership for a Warblade cohort.

Fridays from 2100 to 2300 GMT are perfect for me. Longer if needed, but the start time appears to work well with my class schedule.

The best thing I have prepared for the Ridiculous Contest is Cerrad... Can I just point at the Disgaea series and claim my trophy? Because Disgaea is the most ridiculous. Either that, or Pun-Pun (who quickly takes Leadership so that he can claim the omnifiscer as a cohort).

As for times, 9:00 PM GMT is fine for me. If we start up to 4 hours later, that's also fine for me. Unfortunately, I can't guarantee that I'll be available every Friday evening during University, since my workplace requires that I be available Friday and Saturday evenings. I'll probably be able to make most weeks, but not all.

Ok Rules experts, I have a couple questions. Mostly relating to the Time Hop power, if approved, would it be possible to summon an astral construct, then time hop myself into the future? Or would I loose the construct that is fighting for me?

I'm wondering if I loose it due to concentration checks, because there's the solicit psicrystal ability that says you can have your psicrystal take over one concentration check. If my astral constructs require concentration, then the time hop thing alone wouldn't work. I'd need to use this power first, then time hop, leaving my crystal behind, along with the construct.

I also wonder if I am limited to one construct at a time, with this concentration check. Or can I summon multiple constructs to fight for me? Or perhaps if I am limited to 1 per concentration, with the solicit power, could I then summon and maintain 2?

Solicit should let you have concentration spells at one time. I suppose that if you don't share the spell with your crystal that it would not be affected by time hop...

Astral construct is 1 round to cast and 1 round/level, just like summon monster. You don't need to concentrate on it. You can summon astral constructs at a rate of 1 per round from now until you run out of power points, not concentrating on them.

Time hop would only interfere with that if you somehow used astral construct + quickened timehop or something along those lines to timehop yourself while you're summoning the construct. That would probably warrent some sort of concentration check.

As for the summoned critters remaining during the time-hop, it might depend upon how persistent the D.M. wants magic to be. Some D.M.s feel that spell durations should expire with their caster. I am not familiar with the written rules on the subject, but there are precedents out there for a spell ending if the caster no longer exists, even if it is only temporary...

Why would you want to time hop in the middle of combat? Leaving combat like that is only good if you are desperate and alone. The only good use I can think of is to use it on an enemy. You'd take them out of combat for at least 5 turns if they can't past a will save.

If anyone is interested I am keeping a running total of collected psionic powers in my spell list. This is mainly because I intend to collect all of the powers for an illumian cabal. I ran into a few problems along the way though, but I think I will simply be nerfing my character to fulfill my goal. It turns out that powers have an exp cost. I'll be knocking myself down a few levels to collect powers.

Now for the important question. How many powers can I 'start' with? By starting at level 4, and about 3,980 exp down and about 7,000g in access fees I can have all level 1 and level 2 powers. The exp penalty will eventually fix itself, so I can still catch up. If I were to do this later I would be about 2 levels behind everyone for the rest of the campaign. I'll get exact costs depending on what I can get. Also my power list will become 'what is relevant' at the time. I'll have a full list somewhere else.

EDIT: If need be I'll write their travels into my backstory. Supposedly Villageton isn't the first town they've been to.

Ok, so I don't need to take solicit at all then right?

And my thoughts for the self time hop would be because my girl will be extremely weak in personal combat, or at least I plan to make her that way. So she would summon a defending construct, then time hop herself into the future, only returning when the construct's duration dissapates. Yes I can stick around if I feel safe, and yes I can time warp enemies for a few rounds at DC and will saves.

Yep, time-hop is a great defense, you can use it to saver a party member, yourself included, who is in imminent danger, and astral construct is a big initial investment, to do it justice you need to dump as many PP as possible into it. Once you have dumped a suitable wad of PP into a combat you should feel free to take the rest of the fight off...

Ok, I think I'm done with my powers. But Now I'm moving on to items. I don't see this girl being a prepared boyscout type, so I'm thinking she would have only some magical/psionic items, instead of random rope and candles and such.

I'm thinking of this 'skin of ectoplasmic armor' from Complete Psionic as armor. Price being 3k gold.

However, I'm not sure what type of weapons I can have. I was pondering the Sickle from the players handbook, but with some sort of psionic enhancement.

"Psions are proficient with club, dagger, heavy crossbow, light crossbow, quarterstaff, and shortspear." - From the Expanded Psi book. Does this mean a sickle is out? Can I even use a sickle or any weapon without a proficency for it? This seems like a basic D&D thing that I just can't seem to wrap my head around.

Looking at the magic item book shows a ton of enchantments, but the finished items are always 10k+ and I don't know how much I can afford.

I also thought about potions. Is there such a thing as power point potions? That restore pp on drinking? And if so, How much?

Also, Is there any possibility of an item that would boost my Astral Construct level? Like maybe a Psionatrix specifically tuned for that purpose? Something like a +2 to manifester level for Astral Construct Power only, This way, I'd still need to pay power points to raise the construct's level, but could spend enough to get that level 4 construct. I'd even take a -1 or -2 con in exchange.

Seems like you guys have way more feats than I do... Not sure if I screwed something up someplace or not. And you've got some really nice items, that I just don't understand how to calculate prices.

Skin of Ectoplasmic Armor actually just looks like a silver coating to your skin when activated. According to the old psionic handbook it should be all simple weapons, but it seems as if sickle was excluded when it jumped to XPH. It's up to Red on that one, but simple weapons should be useable.

Here is a feat breakdown for a level 5 psion:

Level 1: Starting level feat (any), flaw feat (any if you took a flaw from Unearthed Arcana), psion feat (metapsionic/psionic only)
Level 3: Feat (any)
Level 5: Psion feat (metapsionic/psionic only)

In total you should have 5 feats if you took a flaw. 2 of the feats need to have the descriptor of [psionic], [metapsionic], or [psionic item creation].

EDIT: You can use a weapon without the proficiency, but you'd take a -4 to hit. Apparently not all classes start with simple weapon proficiency. If nothing else there is a feat to get it in PHB.

You also get a feat at level 5, just for reaching level 5.

Nope, you get feats for reaching level 1, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, and 18 (PHB, p.87 under 'Acquiring Feats'). Anything else would be class specific and mentioned in your class description.

EDIT: It might be ridiculous to start the game with over 100 powers, but it IS the characters goal to collect them all. Besides if I were to get all the power level 1 and 2 powers at level 5 I would have to spend 14,000 exp instead of about 4,000 for collecting early and frequently. The exp cost gets worse as you keep going. It is obvious that they didn't intend to have one character collect ALL the powers, but whatever. I can try.

EDIT2: For ease of access for the DM I have stated gold and exp costs under the conditions and additional information tabs. Level 1 powers 'should' be free since I start in an illumian cabal where I know people and have lived my life. That would make acquiring powers fairly free.

EDIT3: What are the chances that I can simply put aside experience that I would have used to acquire powers? Going through a dungeon or two without finding a town would force me to drop more exp for the same powers if I happen to level. This would also allow me to not find all the powers before leveling. For example, if I were level 5 could I put aside 3,800 exp to get any level 3 power when I find one, even if I happen to level before finding all of them?

huh I always though it was every two levels since you get one at level 1 then 3, guess I'll have to take a flaw.
