Wait, they grow attached to shields, too?

Just had a dwarf grow attached to a copper shield. I thought they only grew attached to weapons, or does the game classify shields as weapons (sheildbash and all that) or something?

I had dwarves grow attacked to many goblins ;)
I wonder if you could potentially name a shield after shield bashing enough people to death. It'd be even better if you could name parts of their body. "Dez, the dwarven right upper arm" and "Troy, the Dwarven left upper arm".

afaik shields can be used as weapon and a dwarf using it can grow attached to it. I've never seen a dwarf get attached to a piece of armor.

I recall seeing a dwarf get attached to one of his high boots, but not the other. But this was a few versions ago and I was using a danger room.

Dwarves can grow attached to armor, yeah. Naming is applied only to weapons (though if you use shield or maybe even a piece of armor enough as a weapon...?)

My "L" screen is full of Maces/Bucklers that were named by my military dwarves. One dwarf dropped his mace after losing a hand, and goes around beating stuff with his buckler.

i just had a marksdwarf become attached to a leather hood.

Once on one of my forts (one of the best i must say) each of my military (30 at all) had at least one MB on their kill list,this fort was awsome,and one guy had 50 kills on his shield 10 of them being FBs and and the other,well they're others, he killed only by dashing like dragon ball and hiting them in the head with his only fist (right)
