They do in adventure mode and I am 99% dwarf mode is the same.

They dont. The "You are blistering" messages it spams when you are near one are from enviromental heat.

While messing around I once got the "You are burning alive!" message, and also I managed to get some dead peoples names to be listed in flickering orange/red colors in the unit list.

Red/yellow/orange means they were carrying something flameable when they died. Never seen that burning alive message.

Well that seems less crazy than furry art. At least bearded-lady dwarves exist, and everybody needs love y'know.

I'm thinking this is like Lady Godiva, but on a mule. Are you sure your dwarves have cave adaptation? There could be another reason they keep running outside to puke.  :)
