I still have all game files, but I couple players sent me messages a while back to say they wouldn't be participating anymore, and looking back over the thread, despite having 10 players, we only have 5 votes.  Who's still following this?

He doesn't look like a good match to me. I'm willing to consider, but ten minutes of youtube videos and mostly he seems to just smile and shoot people. Link me something that shows that he has personality. "I kill stuff" is not personality. Remember that I need to write dialogue, and remember that this Let's Play takes place in its own universe. Remove Alucard from Integra and the Hellsing organization and I don't see him as having much left apart from "kill stuff."

The link i have shows his personality.There is some dialogue that depends on the one you are watching though.The OVA has more dialogue of him from what i remember .

12 minute video. ~15 sentences from him of which roughly half are simple statements describing what's going on in the scene. I think you're confusing "having personality" with you personally feeling thrill and excitement while watching the character. He's basically a rampaging psychopath, and the only personality I get from the above video is that apparently he's a psychopath who hates himself.

I think I'm going to go with "No" on this. I don't see any easy way to write convincing dialogue for this character without subverting everyone else's character. On the sliding scale of silliness versus seriousness the game world we have here leans heavily towards silly. Putting Alucard into that would be like dropping Hannibal Lecter into an episode of the Smurfs. If you did, you'd end up either smurferizing Hannibal, thus turning him an ineffective comedic failure, or you could have him go on a roaring rampage of murder and cannibalism, in which case it wouldn't much resemble the Smurfs anymore.

Alucard is not compatible with our game world. His presence would detract from it.

Nah, Alex has a lot more personality, especially since he's pulled more from those parody videos than the real thing.

And we certainly don't need another one of him.

Is it really that hard just to pick an interesting character?
