You know, the UK PCGamer did a sort-of Let's Play of this, except it was in book form. The guy who did it made his last play through of it with a bunch of super evil bunnies, so he did their opposites-bunnies which were supposed to be really nice and ate lychees.

in book form

However, I'll try to locate it and get a photo of it to prove it exists. Might also attempt to copy it out onto here at some point.

Too bad we aren't using custom races. On a large map like this, Federalist+Max pop. growth is usually what wins the game for me.:P

In any case, I'm currently voting for the Universalists.

I know I've read that LP online.

I'll see if I can find the link. (e: Found it.)

Also I volunteer to be in the diplomacy committee.

I volunteer to be in the war council.  Even if we don't become warlords, I will not rest until we destroy our enemies.  And yes, I still really hope we forge a bloody, brutal empire.

I propose that we just build influence starbases everywhere and convert everyone. With a spin control center, you can keep hot-headed idiots from attacking you while you leech off all the planets from them.

Sure, I'll be a part of Colonial Affairs, then. Can't be strong without some extra planets and resource nodes (and asteroid belts?).

Also, the OP's picture is broken.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

List of researchable techs? (I guess screen shots of the research map would work)

I remember seeing another LP like this that was remarkably well done! I appreciate you going for LPing this game Sirus. You've got a lot of work ahead of you if it's going to be anything like the LP I'm thinking of, but if it's that awesome it will be totally worth it!

I'd be interested in participating on one of the councils. I'd prefer Colonial Affairs because I like that sort of thing, but I'll do whatever you need people for. I've got nothing going on so I should be able to be here frequently, I hope.

As for a faction I'll vote for the Universalists for the widespread bonuses, and having a luck bonus seems like it should be a fun thing-especially with how many anomalies and such we can find.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how this goes Sirus! Thanks for doing this, and good luck with everything! ^^

I'd say go for Industrialist, every little bit of production helps, especially early-game.

I've always been a fan of the Federalists over the Industrialists.  Production is all very well and good, but you need to actually pay for it.  Of course my preferred strategy is to massively overextend myself in the initial land grab so it's understandable why I need the money.  I also like rush building at the frontier when war breaks out.  It seems more logical to me to have a budget surplus then a standing military.  A budget surplus can be spent on social improvements if war doesn't break out, a standing military will just sit around sucking up your cash if war doesn't break out.

I think the Technologists might be the best however.  Even just being one or two techs ahead of where you would be otherwise can do your economy as much good as the economy bonuses when you count the better improvements or a most cost-effective military.  Plus being a tech leader is a big asset if you are going for galactic wonders.
