Derelict: A space adventure

Derelict
A space adventure.
Starting space craft is a big rectangle with 3 floors.  (It is a rectangle to make it easy to understand.  This can be modified later. This is a mothership. Once certain conditions are met it will be able to launch fighters controlled by additional players.
Note that the crew positions delegate some stuff away from me (the GM) so as to avoid GM fatigue and disinterest.

1st tasks.
1.   Captain: Commands were the ship goes and overall combat strategy.  Pretty much the overall leader but mostly delegates commands to the others who then decide what to do based on them.  This excludes combat and maneuvers of the mothership which are directly controlled.
2.    Chief Engineer:  In charge of repairs as well as the customization of the mothership.  You decide where the weapons go on the ship and how what to install elsewhere.  You will need to create crude or better images of the parts of the ship for us to reference. This means layouts of all 3 floors, and any side of the ship with equipment on it.
3.   Science Officer:  You decide what to research and will lead away team style missions.  Also keeps track of research tree.
4.   Communications/Sensors Officer/Flight coordinator.   Gives overall commands to all fighter pilots.  Also is required to map out the location and headings of the mothership and fighters for reference to all players.
5.   Cargo Master.  Delegates components to fighter pilots to build/repair/upgrade their ships.  Also keeps track of cargo.
Once we get an engineer and a science officer we can start initial ship construction/research.

Starting science topics:
1.   Lasers
2.   FTL Drive
3.   Subwarp Drive
4.   Shields
5.   Ballistic Weapons
6.   Rocketry
7.   Armor
8.   Biotech
9.   Shuttlecraft
Let's see how this goes.

Edit. Sci officer choose 5 of those to start.

Fuzzy the Science Officer wishes to submit the starting science topics:

FTL Drive
Shields
Rocketry
Armor
Shuttlecraft

Ok the ship now has for installation:
Basic Warp Drive x1
Basic Shields Generators x3
Mini Rocket Launcher x2
Steel Plate Armor x800
Shuttle Craft Basic x1
Shuttlebay x1

(Get designing Max!)
On armor you can draw in areas of the ship and give amounts for each of them. No need to spread it evenly.
The same goes for shields.  Just number and perhaps color code the areas to allow me to easily reference them.
IE. Area 1. Red
2 Basic Shields
300 Steel Plate
area 2 Blue
1 basic shield
200 Steel Plate

Also record locations of any weapons/other external systems on these. IE the exit of the shuttle bay.

Also be sure to position stuff like the shuttle bay and shield generators on the internal decks.

Next Sci Pick 3 (Yes options vary each time!)
1.   Lasers
2.   Subwarp Drive
3.   Ballistic Weapons
4.   Plastics
5.   Sensors
6.   Ram Scoop
7.   Asteroid Mining
8.   Manufacturing

The hull gets 5/8 of the armor the bridge gets 2/8 and the engine are the rest. Spread the shields out evenly. Shuttle bay will be in the hull at the rear by where the thrusters are. The drive will be in the very center as to protect it from unfortunate explosions from fire. Put the rocket launchers in the bottom of the hull facing forward. Picture will be later.

No need for 3d unless you want it.

I suggest seperate images for each floor and each surface side of the ship. About 9 pics though you only need to show the ones in use.
Floor1
Floor2
Floor3
Top
Bottom
Front
Back
Left
Right

Again make sure to list areas for objects.  If I can't tell it is installed I will just act like it isn't there.

Also woo cargo master you'll get stuff to play with soon.

alright the missles are the aroww things the blue on the front is 400 plates the side which is reddish is 200 and the back has the rest the shuttle bay is on the 1st floor. the yellow things are thrusters  the squar is the engine and shield genorators which protect evenly and the top floor houses the bridge (later images will be better i promise)

Slight problem.  There are no thrusters :P  Might want to lobby the Sci officer to do something about that. The bridge I'll give as a freebie.
Otherwise this is a good basic mockup.

We won't need the full 9 frames until it gets more parts. You might want to at least list components found in each frame though.

IE
Front X amount of armor, 2 mini rockets etc
Deck 2 Warp Drive
Deck 1 Bridge

Just so we all know where everything is.  It should be easier that way.  Also don't overload surfaces or things could go wrong. IE Don't paste every weapon on the ship in the future, besides the cargo master can use some of it for fighters eventually.

I'm just pointing it out for the future.  2 mini rockets are absolutely tiny.  Eventually the cargo guy will be able to manufacture tons of em.  And ammo too.
