I was installing these when I took a look in the dwarf.txt file. Apparently when a monster speaks about a particular race of creature it killed, it can get it's text  from a file to choose a special insult for that being. The Elf file is funny, but the first line in the dwarf file is hilarious:

I killed Urist stonepaints who was too short to live.

Also, These threats should be calibrated to assassinating mayors and the like. It would be plain creepy to have mayor Nobley Mcnoble to say "Your corpse will taste delicious when lightly seasoned with nutmeg!"
