Temporary fix

I deconstructed all of the beds and the wounded went to eat. After I rebuilt the beds and they went to rest. Not very useful for big forts.

How about setting beds behind locked doors?

On a side note, does anybody have a clue how to use heal.exe? I'm trying to figure it out to salvage my fort until Toady can fix this bug.

I'm guessing heal is broken right now.  The 33a version was broken when 33b was released and since 33c just came out I would imagine the 33b version at the wikipedia page is now broken.  It takes Rick a little time to update the tools each release and as far as I know there isn't a 33c version of heal yet.

Yeah I've also got this problem. It's got a lot of attention and for a good reason: it dooms the dwarf stuck in the loop to a grisly death by indecisive pacing, and it completely spams your screen. I vote this for #1 most important bug to squash for the next version.

I got this when my hunter ran out of bolts and decided to try and hammer an elephant with his crossbow. (I somehow got him to run away instead before it got too bad).

My short term solution is to not make any barracks, and assign every bed available to someone.  eventually if there are enough idle dwarfs, someone will give him drink/food before he spams too much.

Yeah, i got it aswell... stupid glasscraftsmakerblowerdwarf thing got 'accidently' beaten up in my barracks... but i noticed that it only ever happens once... ooorrrr it was just extreme luck that a swords dwarf gets it straight after the poor stupid glasscraftsmakerblowerdwarf died from thirst.

I have also come across this bug but I have found nobody is eating or drinking it doesn't matter if there injured or not which as you can imagine doesn't bode well for my current fortress.

I can confirm this bug with injured dwarves.  It's quite frustrating to have all of your miners caught in a cave-in and dance around their rooms while trying to eat and rest.

I had one too, but as I'm doing work on breaching a double-aquifer I do not have a  save (when I fail, I ctrl-alt-del-end-task and start over).

I tried deconstructing the bed and the dwarf immediately starts dancing around another bed.  I'll see if getting rid of all my beds does anything.

The solution only worked temporarily.  After rebuilding some beds, one of my miners went to rest and stayed there, but then as soon as he gets thirsty, he gets up to get a drink and starts dancing again.  This really makes some aspects of the game totally unplayable.  One of my miners died of thirst because he was dancing back and forth long enough.

Ditto. Three coffins filled due to this bug so far. This is definetly a top priority issue.
