The drop system and shop will be identical to the TF2 one.

I don't really have a problem with it. Looking forward to it actually. I want a tophat and monocle for Viper.

There are two types of announcers[5], a normal “announcer”, who announces most in-game events, and a “mega-kills” announcer, who announces kill streaks. The announcer packs that have been found in the item schema so far are:

In other news; I've yet to fight against a Phantom Lancer, but having played him a few times, I imagine it's absolute hell to deal with, considering the illusions appear to cast spells whenever you do.

Yea, but luckily you only have one "spell" to deal with, which is phantom lance. Long ranged nuke that does a decent slow and creates an image of the lancer next to whoever it hits.

PL is really difficult to defeat if you aren't paying attention to him before engaging, but usually you can pick out which version of him is actually doing full damage to the creeps he is farming and judge off that. He might use his ability to replace himself with an image and turn invisible, but then all you need is dust and he'll be the only invisible lancer.

Hes not really considered a professional-level hero, but he can work wonders against those without the skill or know-how to deal with Illusions and Invis.

I think someone hasn't seen Phantom Lancer and Keeper of the Light lane together. Aka "the gayest lane in Asia", favored by teams like EG. Of course.... Keeper of the Light isn't out in Dota 2 though so you can't do that yet.

Huh, odd. I haven't heard of KotL being a competitive hero either. Maybe things have changed lately.

I read through the Kleiner Announcer pack and it... Sounds? Reads? Looks good. Really good. Even though I can pretty much imagine exactly how it sounds, it'll still be great to hear it for real.

I hope I get a ton of free stuff from games I have already bought, like happened to me in the early days of TF2 promotion items.

Yup, Phantom Lancer is just as overpowered as I remember. Maybe more so, because I played him in the days before bottle and magic stick. Slow to start, just like any carry, but get a perseverance (which leads into a Linkens) early on, and you become extremely infuriating to kill, not to mention having a ~250 damage nuke on a few second cooldown. End with Diffusal/Linkens/Power Treads most games. If I ever have a game that lasts more than 30 minutes then I'd build a Heart (for those uber tanky illusions), Manta (because MORE illusions, and movespeed is nice), and Butterfly. Skeleton King won't know what hit his resurrection.

Seems they nerfed the proc chance on his passive though. Not that he needed more, because illusions that spawn illusions gets ridiculous after you have at least two up. And I don't remember getting magic armor on his ultimate either. But more loving for my second favorite hero.

Now, if they get Meepo in there...
