Alliance dropped exactly zero games in the prelims. They dropped one game in the main event, before the finals (and it was a bo3, so who cares?). And now they're down 2-1 to Na'Vi, having dropped two matches in a row.

Now, to be fair, they gave Na'Vi Wisp both times and made some other questionable drafting decisions, so maybe they've learned from their mistakes. But still, [A] has dropped more games in the grand finals than in the entire event leading up to the grand finals. I don't think anyone really expected Na'Vi to win more than one game... and now they've won 2 and have a lead over [A].

That was the very definition of a 'desperation Rapier'. Against mega-creeps, you have exactly 0 chance in an extended game. The only hope remaining was to GG-push mid and take the throne while one support protects your own throne (through the cunning tactic of 'pull the creeps into your fountain'). If that last teamfight was lost, the game was over anyways. Might as well buy the most powerful item in the game and hope to win.

(By the way: anyone who buys a Rapier while they're winning is an idiot. Or they're showboating, which makes them an idiot. Rapier is an item you buy when you're behind, period.)

Aggressive tri and Prophet TPing in, for a 4-man gank on an Alchemist? Lolnope, Alch gets first blood and a double kill before going down. TPs back, [A] try again with a four-man gank, and are slightly more successful... they kill Alch, but Io dies to the acid spray moments later. Solo Alch goes 3-2 and first blood versus 4 opponents.

EDIT: And that rosh fight! This game is amazing. After a few of the previous games were kinda... one-sided, it's nice to see that the final game has been hotly contested.
