In addition, we’ll be giving the most active Dota 2 players some more copies to gift to friends. This will be done on a regional basis based on available capacity, starting with US West.

Not everyone, but at least the people that are most into the game. This makes me happy as I actually suggested this way of beta distribution to the Dota 2 Team to battle the Beta Key black market. Probably a ton of others had the same idea, but I still feel like I had some part in it.

I need Phantom Lancer and Meepo to come out at some point. Those were two of my absolute favorite characters back in the day.

Oooh Phantom Lancer would be neat! Hes not really a competitive hero, but he is fun as hell in pubs. Go, my army of illusions!

Meepo had a similar feel to him. Get levels and snowball into fights with all four of the little bastards; he's pretty much unescapable, but if they decide to focus you (or have Lich) they can wreck you pretty easily.

With some decent microing, you could even stick one in lane and use 2-3 others to jungle with. Since they all shared experience... yeah.

You're in luck. I think Phantom Lancer is next out, if not he'll be soon as a lot of his stuff is nearly complete.

Been playing this a lot lately, and I must say... I love supports.  Just played a game as dazzle where I could dish out about 500 insta heals, 400 dmg shield, and a residual for 400 heal in a single blast... nothing says asset to team like having everyone at full health after a team fight :P

When EM was a thing, I used to play Dazzle as a carry for shits and giggles... get Assault Cuirass and Stygian Desolator for lots of anti-armor, and win easily with your poison (which also does physical damage, as well as your heal).

Playing against bots isn't so much for learning strats, and getting good at the overall game, it's more specifically good for learning proper placement, movement, lane control, proper harass, not over-extending, simple jukeing, etc just really placement and reactionary learning in general.

Anyway. Steam just gave me two passes to dota 2 to give to my friends. Since I don't have any friends I figured I would just delete them. But then I remembered you guys and the fact that I don't know how to delete stuff from steam. So is anyone here interested in the dota 2 beta?

I would love a DOTA 2 pass. As an avid LoL player who hasn't played DoTA before I'd be very interested in it.

From what I've also seen it has some features to make it harder than interest me (ex: Huge lanes).

Every time I play, I just see more annoying things that were workarounds for limitations in WC3 and have no place in a finished game. But they're still there and I have no clue why.

The courier is my most recent one. It's just an awful experience when you're not coordinated. It serves the same purpose as recalling in league, but with a gold investment and a distracting mechanic.

I don't want to start a fight here again about which MOBA is best because that's not what I'm saying, but I really feel like they're clinging to the original DOTA too much and aren't improving where they could because of it.

Not a limitation of WC3's engine. Take it as good or bad (it does serve a ulterior purpose that has to do with map control, but I don't want to go into it; it's late.), but you can make an exact replica of Recall in Warcraft. There is a reason Icefrog has chose not to implement it, and I'm sure its safe to assume this was suggested countless times to him, especially once LoL gained in popularity. The reasons why he hasn't done so are something only he knows - It's a design decision.
