Looks great! i think its more of a incentive to old players than new tough, maybe they should guarantee a item drop or something like that.

I was thd and went bot with sven. After some ganks it was just 5 man dota for the rest of the game the only problem with that is that they had zombie and zombie makes 5 man dota sad.

Been fiddling with double stout shield builds for laning with random gold.

It only just occurred to me after all this time that lane creeps don't do more than 20 damage most of the time (they have a range of damage, something like 17 - 24). With two stout shields, your probability of blocking 20 damage is 84%. This means that 84% of the creep harass damage doesn't actually occur. So suppose you get attacked about 5 times by a lane creep and you block 4 of the attacks, you would have negated 100 damage easily. At the early point in the game it's quite literally 84% physical damage resistance, so only 16% of physical damage affects you, and that 16% will be reduced by your armour even more.

Why is this useful knowledge?

It's because I play tanky super level 1 heroes like Ursa, Slardar, Spirit Breaker, etc. all like crazy right click machines right from the box. The biggest source of damage that early in the game is not from the heroes but from the creeps and tower (heroes will be trying to run away). So if I remove it to just a 16% chance of taking damage, I'm nearly immortal in the early game. Especially combined with the crazy amounts of starting armour all those guys get.

It would be impossible to lose the lane as I can walk right next to enemies and punch em in the face while taking almost no damage at all.

By the way, here's Dota 2's official lorebook. You unlock more pieces of lore every time you complete a tutorial. This includes very detailed backstories for heroes, how the world came to be, etc.

It looks amazing!

Guh. Today was a bad day. 3 out of 4 games I was given a hero that needs solo lane to succeed or is almost completely useless. All the games my teammates just insist on crowding next to me at all times.

So I played a useless Meepo that was only gaining levels at the same rate as all the other players. I played a useless Brood that couldn't do anything because I only got time to be alone after the enemy was already fed.

Only one fun game, which was Sven. Entire team was stun team. Something like Sven, Ogre Magi, Witch Doctor, etc. That one was particularly hilarious since with the double stun lane of OG and Sven we could get guaranteed kills even at level 1 and 2.

Haah but still... all random was not kind today.

I will note that due to psuedo random distribution, that a stout sheild only actually has a 53% chance of blocking damage. This means that 2 have a 78% damage block, or 22% chance of a hit going through. That's still pretty good, but significantly worse then 84% block.

Try Kunkka + Shadow Demon for absolute ridiculousness.
SD + Leshrac and Kunkka + Bane are more or less the same grade A bullshit. There are very, very few heroes that can survive once they get level 2.

My one match with me and my four friends ended in ruin. Bloodseeker and me(Rubick) went mid while everyone else split up. Bloodseeker spent the entire match chasing me down and silencing me when we got near enemies. Short story, he's a massive dick.
