Adventure mode backpack bug
« on: October 26, 2006, 04:40:00 pm »

One day I was fortunate enough to find a backpack on the ground. (I had a feeling that someone died and dropped one in that area earlier!) Realizing I couldn't wear two of them, I still decided to switch because I liked the new one better. I started by (r)emoving my old one, that ended up in my hand. Then (this was my mistake) I figured I'd stuff the old one away before putting on the new one. I used (p)ut to stuff it inside the new pack, but since the new pack was inside the old one, naturally both of them disappeared along with all the items inside them. Wha' a thin' ta 'appen!

Perhaps an early implementation of Magic?

:V

This sounds like a fairly amusing bug, actually.

I just tried it with three backpacks and it froze the game.

Edit: two backpacks freeze the game for me.  I'm playing the October 2 build, for what it's worth.

I had accounted for that when I first did the adventure container commands...  I guess it's not working out.

That actually does sound really funny. Imagine living in a world where if you put your wallet in your backpack, then try to wear the backpack, they both disappear with no trace! Great way to get rid of evidence! Can we hack up the guards and stuff their body parts into bags? I'm sensing a workaround for the upcoming Judicial system implementation...
