Follow the trail of the dried blood stains from coffin to... wherever it ends, really.

Get worrisome ideas about Sibrek the Zombie Dwarven Lady.

sleep

You fall asleep peacefully while Sibrek is drawing and watching over you.

>...

> Go inside, take a nap

You enter the cave.
Some strange dwarf is talking to you, but tired from travelling you just lie down to sleep.

>...

Ah! A dwarf! Rovod runs towards them, clutching his empty flask protectively, and asks, giving his best smile:
"Ah, hello, hello! Do you happen to know where there might happen to be a... Fortress around here?"
He shall take a few sniffs of them, just incase they are some sort of threatening berserker or similiar. If they ARE, he will throw the flask at them and run!

The dwarf does not answer your question and falls asleep instead.
sniffing check: d12=3, d12=3
He doesn't smell that threatening. Maybe a bit. You don't really know...

tracking check: d12=7, d12=6
Zan Malicepowder, Potash maker, is a Novice Tracker now!
You quickly find some more traces of blood leading down the ramp into the great hall...

Further down the hall you find two floor grates with bones, pieces of wood and a longnose gar lying around them.
The mechanical humming that can be heard all around becomes quite loud here.
The trace of blood appears to be washed away.

"...Why, how rude!"
Rovod, rather miffed by his fellow dwarf simply deciding to take a nap while he was talking, shall briefly consider shoving him off the ledge, but will ditch that idea and instead climb down the ladder and take a look around, muttering to his flask as he goes,
"Never mind, this looks like the fortress! At last! Now, to find who's in charge... And possibly where to get some fresh milk."

You sleep for a short while and wake up, restored by your nap. The other dwarf is leaving.

You walk around, speaking to your flask. A furnace is set up here...

Going further you find a small drained channel, a hole leading downwards and an entrance to a narrow tunnel.
There are two levers next to the channel, and some splinters of wood and bone are lying on its ground. An unreadable engraving is carved into the floor.

fish cleaning check: d12=8, d12=3
You take a piece of bone and manage to scrape the scales off the fish with it.
It's quite tasty but too raw to be a good meal...

Something is wrong with your stomach...

You throw up blood and green slime! You lost 2 hitpoints!

>_

dream of sweet pods and rum

You wake up, shaken by nightmares about sweet pods drinking rum and trying to eat you.
You feel very weak...
Sibrek appears to be gone, and with her your flask. The feather and the ink are lying on the ground.

"Damn Sibrek! She cursed me with unspoken magics!"

Swear to kill her, and then check both grated chutes.

Wielding his flask like a club, Rovod shall go a short way down the tunnel to see what's within. If there's nothing of interest, he'll head back to meet up with that dwarf, giving the levers an experimental pull as he goes. "Hm, this is the fortress? It certainly doesn't look like much. Where is everybody?"

check the map sibrek drew.

You look at the very abstract map. Is this art?

>_

> Explore the rest of this ledge.

You go a few meters to the right. The ledge ends here, connected to the ground by another ladder.
spot check!
Somebody is sneaking down there...

>_

Swear to kill her, and then check both grated chutes.

You look down the chutes. They are not very deep. A small channel appears to be at the ground, leading somewhere. It's covered with pieces of wood and bone and other small junk.

You find a workshop, a toppled workshop and a woman in the room the tunnel leads to. She asks you for:
"Braaaaaaanes!"
Interesting!

"Ah, hello! Good to see a friendly face after such a long journey! Er, wh-what's that? The name of the Fortress? Brainbrains... Hrm, well, very original! Anyhow, could you perhaps direct me to the fort proper, perhaps the dining area and food stockpiles? Rather thirsty after all this trekking."
He will offer an uneasy grin to the strange dwarf woman.
"Oh, how rude of me! I am Rovod Roofpulleys, Milker Extraordanaire! Pleased to make your acquaintance, Miss...?"
As he waits for a reply, he shall attempt to discreetly sniff in her direction for any scent of danger.
Oh, and when she inevitably lurches at him to eat his brains, he shall hit her with the flask, fend her off, and run screaming back the way he came.
