Clearly it's among the reef. Go hop from rock to rock looking for it. Or at least see if there's a way down there.

Follow the crutch-walker to the edge of the land and then look around. Clearly the entrace is carved into side of a cliff. That thing on the right of map is clearly a cliff.

The whole shore consists a sheer cliff, but it looks easily climbable at this spot...

You both make it down to the edge of the reef without trouble. You can go along the cliff or jump from rock to rock now, but consider that you cannot swim...

From the top of the hill you can see some more hills, a river and the landscape you saw before standing on the hill. No sign of chopped down trees anywhere. The only notable thing is that strange hole in the hill.

Going a bit further toward the headland you find a nice rock to sit on and start recording.
Somebody trampled the grass here! But first you maybe should record the lack of paper to write on...
