I meant something like "Everything is on schedule, I will be back Thursday with turn 1" or "I've been enslaved by a tribe of middle american space-monkeys. So you'll probably have to wait until Monday", not the result of the actual turn.

I am sorry, but I have had so many distractions over this past week that I barely had any time to rest.  At one point I was almost considering stopping this, but rest assure, I am back and this is not dead.  Anyways, I had a few ideas that I thought over for this project which I will be trying to put in effect, and even though I was close to getting everything finish, I wish to go through and rewrite a lot of stuff because re-looking at what I had prepared, I realize that I had rushed through in making it.  As such I am not yet setting a date for the start of this game, but this is the time for the leaders of the nations to start deciding if they want to customize that background of their nation and if so, just send me a pm with the information, and if you wish you can even write up an entirely new background.  Unless it is something extreme, that is a pretty good chance I will either incorporate into the nation's back ground, or even use it as an entirely new background for the nation.  I will be putting up at least a basic background to give you some ideas.

Some of these background things for the nations can even be ingame stuff like choosing what your flag is (you can even send me an image to use), deciding if you want a different rank theme, or even making new rank themes, and even the simple color of your nation.  The Cltr-F2 menu is great for doing some of these things.

Is it really that important to do things like changing nations flags, which will have little effect on the actual game and may just be a waste of time?

Also, the idea of a divided Africa has my strong support, quite interesting.

It won't effect the gameplay at all.  These choices are totally optional, and you don't have to do it, but for the people that do, it gives them a more deeper connection to their nation that should improve their dedication to the game.  When you put work into something, you will be more inclined to stay with, or that's my theory at least.  Also, it gives people who are interested with this game to do something while I finish it up, and small changes like that won't really affect the time it takes to start this game.

Also, the general background for the scenario is now up.

It's nice to know this isn't dead. I'm perfectly fine with how my nation is right now, so we'll just see where I'll take it once this starts :P

I vote that there be no combat on Earth besides Ground Troop combat, and that ANY Earth-combat will face heavy sanctions and reprisal for endangering the home of the human race.

...Anything off of the Earth is free to interpretation and diplomacy.

Although you are free to make the agreement among yourselves, I will not enforce it as a rule.  Feel free to attempt to create groups like the UN to try to protect Earth was being exploded, but remember that any nation can break the treaty and so you better have the force to back it up.  It would be too boring on Earth if everyone new they were safe, and I think modern-day political issues like concern about nuclear threats make for good drama and tough player choices.  Now, what I will not like is when people purposely try to destroy the Earth for no reason.  If someone decides to randomly try to nuke China or dump poisonous gasses into the air, there will be discontent among their nation.  Although you as the leader have great power in your nation, the people of your nation do have an opinion.  If your purposely do things that will only result in the destruction of your entire nation there could be uprisings, oustings, or even assassinations.  Aurora, while a good space simulator, is not that good of a political simulator, and that is where I come in.

Edit: Now have the bio for America up with a hint at what I plan for with the United South American Nations.

RebelZhouYuWu, I like your idea. I'll rule the Union of Black Workers, the communist-racist north of the continent. I think one of the guy that wanted to assist me can rule the capitalist swine to the south of the Congo river.

I, being one of the people that was to work with Sheb, would rather enjoy being a capitalist version of southern Africa. I can't say I know much about the culture or even all that much about their history, but I'm sure it'll be fun to give it a try!

I'm not sure if all the nations are taken up or not...

and replacement players would likely be needed.

Can't wait til this game starts! :)

...I wonder what we'd all do if we come upon a 25,000,000 ton unidentified enemy contact with no engines or weapons, like I just did. :P I'm curious to know how much damage I'll need to inflict on the damn thing to be able to salvage the wreckage... Anyone ever dealt with this before? Yes, by the way, its a Precursor ship. I think.
