Hey all! I've heard good things about this game, and I've been wanting to do an LP on here for a while, so I installed it today and now you get to watch me stumble around town trying desperately to make a living.

In case you haven't heard of it, Europa 1400: The Guild is a medieval life-sim kind of thing. We'll be guiding a dynasty from rags to riches between the year 1400 and the year 1815. We'll have to make money from the ridiculous amount of career options, as well as woo mates to continue the great family line and discretely (or violently) push our rivals into the gutter! So, without further ado, let's start this thing.

Possible cities: London, Berlin, Nuremberg, Paris, Madrid, and possibly one more Italian city that I'm forgetting.
Possible professions: too many to list. Make a suggestion and I'll try to match it.

Now tell me who and where our founder will be! I'll name him/her after the first person who wants the honor.

I say send him to London and make him a Miner. And name him Urist McMiner.

Well, it really depends on how skilled you are at the game. Professions can be either hard or easy too, depending on how you play it.

But then again, seeing you struggle is also fun, so without further ado, here are my suggestions!

City: Nuremburg
Professions: Necromancer (Church Warden)
Heritage: Priest/Poet and throw the rest into Combat.

I also like to ask that our dynasty be named Palaiologos and so that we shall claim ourselves the heir of the rightful true Roman empire!

Thief would be the easiest profession to go with.
London is the only city that i enjoy (more building areas = longer game!)

I thought it was Nuremburg that had the double city size, not London? If I recall correctly, London was "shorter trip to find herbs" or something to that effect.

In any case, pick Church Warden. You automatically do necromancy while playing it, and your town almost always forbids necromancy - which means plenty of crimes to rack up!

It also gives you occasional maluses to standing for "bad grave management", which helps people hate you more, not to mention that it requires a lot of upgrades and cash as you go along - more cash sinks!

Besides, it's also pretty useful once you get the necromancer tower and the crypts; it's a powerful tool in mid-game play. (Can also be in late-game, but by that point, you've already dominated the whole town anyway.)

(Oh and don't forget, VH difficulty, and max opponent difficulty too!)

...That sounds punishing. Let's do it!

Spoiler: Update 1! (click to show/hide)

You're his dreams! What should we have Urist do next? I really know nothing about this game except for what the very barebones tutorial taught me.

Guild 2 was a marathon game. You were running around the world. Quite dumbed down too. But more graphically appealing and compatibile.

I remember it had four classes: Patron (foodmaking and running inns), Scholar (Bookmaking, Clergy and Apothecaries), Thief (either robbery or burglary) and Craftsman (metalworking, weaving, etc.)

And there seemed to be a lot of focus on inter-house intrigue and local politics. Buggy though, crashed a lot on me.

Yeah, not a whole lot happened in the first turn. There should be a bit more summary as things start to pick up.

Playing now! Update should be out in a few hours.

That's all for tonight. The next update should be a bit longer due to SPOILERS.

Enjoy! Bedtime for me.
