Why do my Zombies melt when I give them fake blood? (FIXED)
« on: August 01, 2011, 05:36:24 am »

The zombies that I have modded melt in the testing arena whenever I add their fake blood, this the creature file

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

yes it is very big so be warned, as its the four major races (Dwarf, Human, Elf, and Goblin,no kobolds) put together using castes. This is a modders' friendly snapshop of the problem area?

Are they melting simple because the arena thinks that a "LIQUID" tissue layer is considered "MELTED" and thus "HOT" which in turn melts my zombies? Because when I remove [TISSUE_LAYER_UNDER:BY_CATEGORY:ALL:DEAD_BLOOD] they stop melting (before I thought it would be the secretion of 'corpse grime' as I've had people melt from their secretions before.) I am stumped. I will be genning a world and playing as them, to see if they melt in the real world.

EDIT: Yes they melt in the real world. Not just the Testing arena. On a side note, I got the desired result of them killing everyone else. Caused alot of war they did. Saddly the dwarves super weapon of specially bred carnivore dwarves all starved to death, thus leading to a near exstiction.

EDIT2: Now I've found a issue with the acual tissue, as I had copied the ELEMENTALMAN_IRON's [TISSUE:IRON] and forgot the remove [MUSCULAR],[FUNCTIONAL], and[STRUCTURAL] tags.

Zombie still gets a little melted, but the 'fake blood' burns away before the zombie is fully melted and dies. Not what I want, the intent of the 'fake blood' is to let it be attacked by dwarves and bleed but not die.

EDIT3: Changed the full creature file to include fixed 'fake blood' incase someone would like to use or modify the creature for their own amusment or mods (as really I didn't invent it just tossed four races together as castes and gave them undead qualites) fun thing about these zombies, they survive without their lower body, but die if you pierce the brain :) or chop off the head, whichever comes first. Also on a another note, because the arena is so hot, it boils away the blood. no harm is done too the zombie only it was no blood to shed.

Solved the problem, by looking at the BLOOD_MAN in the creature_next_underground.txt I saw his blood tissue had [TISSUE_MAT_STATE:LIQUID] which my zombies did not, By adding that to my [TISSUE:DEAD_BLOOD] my zombies stopped melting. Funny eh?

EDIT: For anyone going to use this creature. If it is pierced all the blood in its body will pour out due to [CONNECTS] in the [TISSUE:DEAD_BLOOD] if you want it to only bleed when and lose the blood in a given bodypart instead of the entire body, remove [CONNECTS]
