So.
It looks like the winner is tRoS.
I'll edit the poll for setting choices.

If you still want to play a different system, make your case now/within a reasonable time frame..

These combat rules are really complicated. I suspect we will spend the first several sessions to simply figure out the basics.

Something like that, I guess. I have a basic understanding of how they work.

There's actually a simulator available, that let's you get the gist of combat really easily. Available from their site, around 600kb, and reaally good fun to play around with. same with the character generator.

It looks as though Medieval Europe (Low Fantasy) is the winner. Any further setting information to help character creation?

YOU GOT IT WORKING DIDN'T YOU, YOU WIZARD.
But yes, the fight simulator is great fun.

Hm. I think there are rules for creating characters from Europe in Companion, as well as some other useful tips.
Also, as for location, I think I'll start you guys off somewhere in either Germany, Poland, or western Russia.

Hm, hadn't given it that much thought... troroRolling
1174 Anno Domini is what year we'll be in.
I'd say that's early- to mid- period Medieval Europe. So, no/very little gunpowder.

I can reroll, if you guys want.

You must have been spying on me to know I had decided on those three languages and a character hailing from Russia... Even if you weren't, it seems rather auspicious.

Well, we can be in Russia, and I'll reroll the year if you want, but no guarantees it'll be any later.
Aslo, we'll all have to agree on where you'll be in to start with.
