control problem

It seems that DF will stack up all of your key input. Nothing bad on a fast enough pc, but that might cause some problems on a slow pc.

For example, if I press a direction key in adventurer mode for a while, the character will go in that direction for severl tiles. It is OK in town, but when in a battle, the characters often get killed. I can see the enemies coming, but I just cant stop my characters.

You can set [KEY_HOLD_MS:150] in the init.txt file to a different value if you want.  Setting it higher will make holding down a key send messages less often if you don't want to run out of control.
