Dad: Son time to do your chores.
Me: I'm at a party.
Dad: You are on your laptop playing that dwarf game. Go do your chores now.
Me: I'm at a party.
Dad: For the last time you are not at a party now go do your chores.
Me: I'm at a party.
Dad: God damnit, go do yo-
Me: Party is over.
Dad: Good now go do your chores.
Me: I'm on break.
Dad: GOD DAMNIT! (he walked away and after he left I did my chores.)

I talk about badgers incessantly, and I figure it must be getting on my family's nerves by now.
Every now and then you should talk about mushrooms, or maybe snakes, just to mix it up. :)

Me: Goddamnit, the elves have wood again!
Room mate: this is a bad thing?

(I had to explain about elves, DF, and why them having wood--bringing wood--is bad, when what I wanted was tigers and giant eagles.)

Bahaha, priceless. :D

I have yet to confuse any people in real life yet, but i have annoyed a chatroom i frequent with my incessant cacklingramblings. Annoyed and/or enthralled. It's surprising how many people are entertained by the stories of what you do. But now for an inverted confusion part: Since they're so used to my ramblings, one of them assumed i was talking DF when i was talking Minecraft. But hey, any confusion counts, right?

i burst out laughing in the middle of a lecture whilst reading the 'note to urist' thread once....lecturer stopped, 200 hundred pairs of eyes swiveled to stare at me like i was insane. in fact i actually think the two on either side of me shuffled further away....class was about a engineering project for a disadvantaged Indian village too...so i think it was probably a very inappropriate moment for that to occur.

I fear that each time it tolled out the hour, some part of our souls would mournfully yearn: "A puppy should have died just now, but didn't."

A public phone conversation with a friend of mine, whom I have drafted into the DF fan club.
Him - "Alright. Migrants arrived, with a horse and some cats."
Me - "Cats showed up? That sucks. I hate it when cats show up. If you don't kill them now, by next year you'll have tons of kittens and they'll be dead mice all over the place. Also, do they have names?"
*at this point, a female friend of mine who loves cats and has no idea what DF is as left the room, crying. i'm getting tons of dirty looks.*
Him - "Are they that bad"
Me - "Yeah, they'll totally kill your framerate. Just have the dwarves build a butchery and designate the cats to be butchered."
