Moving along pretty well. Will get an update up tonight. Not really used to this texture pack so I'm kind of stumbling figuring out what things are, lol.

If you had DL'd the lazy newb pack and used the texture utility you could have it update your saves with another texture pack. Though the only other available pack is Ironhands.

I don't use texture packs, haha. I've always used ASCII and using anything else feels kind of strange and confusing, which is a bit ironic considering that's what texture packs are supposed to prevent.

1st Granite 604

What an interesting turn of events! I was looking through the fortress today, in search for inspiration, when I found this journal! It contains stories of all the previous overseers, and, guess what, since I found it and am writing in it right now, that makes me the overseer! How great is that? I'm definitely going to engrave a masterpiece of this event. Or perhaps of some cheese.

Now that I'm overseer, I'm seeing to it that changes be made around here! There shall be more focus on the arts, my talents are being squandered over here! Who really needs food when you have art? So, I'm ordering every bedroom to be engraved and many statues to be made. This fortress will be like a Dwarven art museum by the time I'm done with it!

Also, it appears that both the bookkeeper and manager died, since there is an opening for those spots. Time to pick two dwarves at random!

Because of the migrants, the bridge had to be lowered and the doors opened, but as soon as we did that the dwarves decided to drop everything and loot the dead bodies. Oh well. There's no ogres around, and things look relatively safe and wait what

well, since were now getting deamons, i suggest you make the millatery only wear armour and weaponry.

If grappled, any clothing will burst into flame and turn the victim into a small smoking pillar of agony and fiery death.

... yes i went on a killing spree as a deamon and wiped out a good 1/3 of a towns population by grabbing them with a wing and throwing them before sticking a copper sword to the head.

considering when your done well only be on year 4, im not suprised.
Add to that the year used to breach the aquifyer and i would be suprised if our millatery was of any quality just yet.
It hasent realy been given a solid start since wannazzaki got himself butcherd when i made him the main teacher/learner so its all up to you Imakuni ^^

The Daemons are actually around the same size as Dwarves,a nd come packing with iron-level equipment. If I remember correctly, they only have breastplates and leggings, maybe helms, so one on one a skilled dwarf would take them out.
Except for the whole bursting into flames thing, of course. Have fun.
