« on: July 28, 2011, 10:12:23 pm »

I just found a prisoner who, when I asked what his proffesion was, said a war leader......

his description is "A Great Iguana twisted into humanoid form with external ribs, its cream scales are large and set far apart. Beware its deadly dust!"

He should be able to rip through most ennemies you encounter, but I don't know if his deadly dust will kill you if you get too close.

EDIT : Removed the "will" and added the "be", sorry for the confusion I really wasn't paying attention.

Recruit him, he is a war leader.

You will really win with him.

And try ranged equipment from then on, you will want to leave melee to him. Dust gets stuck in your eyes  :P

Last time I got one of those (in a town wich was a civilization's last refuge) it killed bandit camps by itself, but I got killed by it's "noxious secretions" (massive loss of blood and I vaguely remenber my brain and face melting) before I manajed to get missions to atack more fun beasts. If you get it be sure to stay away from him.

Is this in vanilla DF or are you running a mod? I never found crazy companions like this to recruit, that's pretty awesome.

This is 100% possible in vanilla DF. It's probably a captured goblin or human leader, considering the goblins' and humans' propensity for having clown leaders.

Recruit the guy. He'll be as loyal as a dog, and he'll put your enemies to 'sleep' in no time.

Yeah, he's definitely worth taking along. Just make sure to stay out of his line of fire if he decides to use deadly dust... that shit's basically a mobile explosion.

I once had a tortoise and a humanoid clown with horns as companions. One breathed fire the other venom. 100% pure vanilla. I only died when I got separated from them during a bandit ambush.
tl;dr DO IT.
