Killing all trogs
« on: July 28, 2011, 09:14:53 pm »

I want to kill all the trogs by modding, but everything i tried so far has failed.

I tried changning homeotherm to a really large number but nothing seemed to happen. temperature is on.
After I sent some dwarves to kill the trogs though, a fire started in the cavern which was strange.

I also tried removing brain from the list of body parts which worked, but crashed the game with errorlog

I tried removing some other body parts which also crashed the game.
Anythign else?

Make them so small they can't possibly be a threat. [BODY_SIZE:1]

You could try giving them [AQUATIC]. They should all air drown.

That would crash the game.

Add this to the trog raws:

[SELECT_MATERIAL:ALL]
     [BOILING_POINT:0]

Actually, it would simply refuse to load the world.

I'd say, make their skin boil, make then aquatic, and make them tiny. And just to be absolutely sure, remove their attacks so they can only push. At best they'd be able to kill a fly. Maybe a beetle.

What about [DOES_NOT_EXIST]?
That [DOES_NOT_HELP].

It only applies to worldgen, IIRC. Even if it didn't, you'd likely crash the game.

OP mentioned a Readme file, which I assumed was a list in higher detail than the OP. I did not find it in the Ironhand download.

This saddens me. :(

There is no need to get snappy here.

It effects fortress mode to, which is why centaurs, griffons, and chimeras don't show up in vanilla. I also highly doubt that it crashes the game. Have you done any testing to prove that it does? Innocent until proven guilty, so don't smack my ideas around on distorted assumptions. Either way, it seems like an easy, clean way to dispose of a unit permanently. BOILING_POINT:0 works, but you still have the deceased list stacking up a mile high.

I'm not guaranteeing it will work, but it is worth a shot.

Add this to the trog raws:

[SELECT_MATERIAL:ALL]
     [BOILING_POINT:0]

This simultaneously killed all the trogs and removed the corpses from my stockpiles  :)
Now to do this to all other annoying creatures. Stupid crundles and elk birds.

But crundles are good training, and cannon fodder against HFS!
