So, I was looking around the internet, and I found this awesome page (err, a forum post that lead to the page):

Pixel is making a cave-story like game for the iPhone! :O It's not out yet, in development.

From what I can tell from crappy internet translators, the goal for the release is for this year.

Whatdya think? I think it's awesome, but it sucks that people without iOS stuff are going to be left out...

The story was actually pretty straightforward. And yes, a bit depressing.

If you wanted to get the happy ending, you would have to do a couple things that...don't even make sense that much, although if you look at bookshelves and stuff you can figure it out.

This game gets two internets right away becase 1) cave story was good 2) the phone version has a SEPERATE AREA TO CONTROL

Seriously, developers are still figuring out that when you have to touch the screen you BLOCK the screen.

Reminds me of Ichotian (his earlier game).

And, no Cave story had an awesome plot. It had magic, sci-fi, amnesiac robots, ferocious bunnies, flying islands (well, A flying island), and cute puppies. Oh, and a very persistent toaster.

Any way you look at it, the sad story was depressing. Awesome, but depressing.

Curly Brace died.
The game leads you up to love her and everything, and then she sacrifices herself to save you from drowning.


You can save her, but you have to do a few different things that aren't obvious AT ALL.
And as a reward for saving her you get to fight a super difficult boss after the normal one! (...that requires you to cure the amnesia that she has after you save her, too. So even if you do save her but not cure the amnesia, it's still kinda sad.)

Hmmm, I wonder how similar to Cave Story this new game will be?
It appears to be underwater, so you can likely swim and ignore gravity...but it looks a lot the same, even the shooting from the screenshots.

This is a turn off for me.

The thing that was most fun about cave story was the atmosphere and the slick control scheme.

While the first can possibly be replicated on the iphone the second one is moot.
