Descent, one of the first fully 3D games, and a old favorite of mine.

Huh. Not 2D, "sort of" in space, you pilot a vehicle, and fight robots but never humans. Has at least one sequel and ported to at least one console, but not native to it. Was extremely well known in its day, possibly not so much anymore.

The not 2D, not console-native, used to be famous combo is especially troubling.
