Read the Story Here:

This has been tried in a couple forms here to varying success, but I figured I'd give it another go. We obviously have a lot of talented writers and artists here, and while suggesting what should happen next is all well and good, haven't you ever just wanted to take the reigns and DO it?
And that's what we're (hopefully) going to do here.
Instead of just suggesting things (though suggestions will play a role too!) this will be a story written/drawn collaboratively, within the confines of some generally agreed upon guidelines.
First: People can claim the next update. If you do claim and there's other possible scenes that could be written that don't require your update, please clarify.
Second: Don't get to attached to "your" characters. They will be rewritten by others, likely to become something you didn't expect.
Third: Try to pay attention to and go along with popular suggestions if you can. Keep them in mind at least. You certainly don't have to, however. Since you wrote the update, that's worth like... a suggestion with 10 supports, at least!
Fourth: Updates can be vetoed if 5 people veto (others can oppose vetoes to cancel them out). Some updates may be absolutely great and still get vetoed if it doesn't fit the story. It doesn't mean people didn't like it, so don't take it personally (and who knows, it might never happen).
Finally, some writing guidelines: Try to keep to the agreed upon themes and plot directions, but don't worry about playing around with it a little bit. Be careful introducing new characters, we don't need a huge cast.
I'll also hold regular votes about how the story should progress so collaborators can get an idea of what their comrades and the leeching audience members want.
The first vote is up now, to give us an idea of what sort of genre of story we want to write. Theme will be up next, and finally setting, and then we'll get started. If votes are close for a topic, we'll go with a mix of those in the lead (tragicomedy, romantic comedy, silly drama, etc). You can vote for more than one theme if you want. Suggestions on adding another option are fine, too!
