Research from Ukrainian Ranger and Taricus fails, while SHADOWdump and Haika succeed. SHADOWdump does a critical discovery.
Lightweight Hull: Hull based on speed rather than protection. Costs 800r
Level 1: 1hp, 1250 speed
Level 2: 1hp, 1500 speed
Basic Energy Shield: Adds a regenerative layer of protection. Costs 1500r
Level 1: 2 shield each, 1 shield regeneration turn each

Radar level 1
Colonization Module level 1
Starbase level 1
Improved Mining level 2
10000-6600-1200+500+140= 2840r
Researching went nowhere.
Basic Scout finds nothing of interest as it flies towards PS-C02 and could avoid the asteroids in a consistent manner.
PS-C02 is a planet of size 1 with a moon of size 1. No intelligent lifeforms can be scanned from it.
PS-A03, Taricus, 2/2.
Taricus:
-Colonization Vessel: 2hp, 1200 speed, 7800r
--2x Standard Hull MK-I
--Colonization Module
--Engine
Asteroid (4hp):
-Mining Ship: 1hp, 1000 speed

Colonization Module level 1
Starbase level 1
Improved Weapon Range level 2
10000-7800+500+100= 2800r
Researching went down the drain when a careless researcher spilled the content of his mug on important papers.
Basic Scout finds nothing of interest as it flies towards PS-A02.
PS-A02 is a planet of size 1 and a moon of size 2. No intelligent lifeforms can be scanned from it.
PS-B06, SHADOWdump, 1/1.
SHADOWdump:
-Colony Pod: 1hp, 1000 speed, 6600r
--Standard Hull MK-I
--Colonization Module
-Basic Scout: 5hp, 1500 speed
--5x Standard Hull MK-I
--5x Engine
Asteroid (4hp):

Radar level 1
Colonization Module level 1
Starbase level 1
Improved Extraction level 2
Lightweight Hulls level 2
10000-6600+500+100= 4000r
Not only did the researches come up with a lightweight hull, they somehow pulled of a stunt with the new hull granting them a larger fund for the next project, which they spend on improving the hull.
The Basic Scout see nothing, do nothing, hear nothing.

Researching went great and the following celebration was so crazy that no one knew that the announcement for an additional grant to their project had arrived. Unfortunately it was soon discovered that someone had stolen it.
As the Basic Scout flies towards PS-GRZ08 a few space rocks can be seen, but nothing else.
PS-GRZ08 is a planet of size 3 and a moon of size 2. No intelligent lifeforms can be scanned from it.
Do note that there can be a few errors but I will do my best to squish them.
Also of note, asteroids and spacedust can be depleted but that is nothing to worry about as they will spawn randomly every 10 turns.
Radar will scan passively with a 100% success rate while active search range is 3 hexes (no matter planetary system or overview map, which every ship does automatically). Radars have a farther reach in planetary systems while the overview map has half it range, rounded down with a minimum of one hex.
To leave a planetary system reach the border. To enter a planetary system end turn on a star. If you are three hexes at most from an undiscovered NPC star (normally) you can be hailed or (uncommon) attacked.
