Is the combat very similar at all to that of the games? I'm only about 120 pages through the handbook so far...

I've learned that pokemon can have quite a few more moves learned at one time compared to the games. So that's a plus for this system so far to me.

I figure I'll be writing a journal here, like I do in my other maptools game-at the very least, it will provide thread bumps.

The Journal of Desmond Blue is a Silph Co. Junior Plus Pad..it's a thin, single paged reading and writing device-made to last and impervious to most any element, it's face and writing tools are completely electronic, allowing him to work in any condition without the need to hall around sheafs of paper or pencils-it's power system, solar, with backup batteries. He can freely store a nearly unlimited amount of information, and call upon with a few key presses. It's got his name on the front, on a stamped metal plate. He usually stores it on the left side of his backpack when travelling.

He actually got if for his Nineteenth birthday, and it sat on his top closet shelf for almost three years, before he managed to happen upon it as he was gathering up the last of his things. Thinking that great Heroes always had impressive journals of their adventures, he took it and began to write...

Glad this thing still works. It took about an hour for it to recharge-which is pretty slow, compared to what they have these days. It should work good enough, though!

Well, I set out today from Viridian. The Center said Aero might never fly again, after the walloping he got from that Vileplume...I couldn't bear to watch him limp around for the rest of his life...he'll be staying under their care until I get back...well, IF I get back. From what I've heard, this contest is pretty dangerous. Maybe I can win enough money to afford that surgery for him.

Got accosted by lots of weirdos on the path out of town. What's up with these jugglers? They're everywhere! I just avoided getting beaten to a pulp by staying out of their line of sight. These guys should learn how to look in more than one direction at once. It was a nice day to travel, but I saw storm clouds in the distance.

Saffron city was crowded and dirty, as usual-and all those strange psychics. Give me the creeps. One of them offered me to tell what was going to happen to Aero for some money...well, I turned him down. Maybe people shouldn't know the future-it seems wrong to me, somehow. I stopped overnight, enjoyed a roomy little apartment. Some yowling cat Pokemon in the alley kept me awake all night.

Moving South. It started to rain, of course. I found cover under the awning of the underground route for a lunch break...one of those greedy cat pokemon with the coin on its head stole most of my money. While I was chasing him, one of the ones that looks like a rat with big teeth ate my lunch. So, I was wet, hungry, and pretty much broke. Yeah.

Eventually, got to Vermilion city. Had to sell alot of my stuff, and beg a little, since I didn't have enough for the ticket...the lady was nice though. Pity always worked for me. On one of those ship decks now, as I finish this-wish my girlfriend could have come with me... I've always wanted to see what the under the ocean, you know? Maybe, one day...well see.

I can just barely see Cinnibar Island in the distance now...there's an airport there. At least the contest is paying for my plane ticket...it's a two part flight of course. Kanto Airlines takes me to wherever I'm going, then I get picked up by a first class plane to the contest...

Yeah, I wonder if we're just going to be set onto one of three starters from any of the generations, or it could be any of them. Should be interesting!

Oh Hakia, can you make that a hex and send it to Kuji?

Pokemon get round tokens Barbarossa, trainers get hexes. If you use that as it is I will have an NPC throw a Pokeball at you.
