how i remove this pesky creatures?they're blocking the way to dwarven progress

Try paving a road over them, maybe? I think that's a way to get rid of boulders so it might work here too.
If you want to remove them from the game, look them up in the creature files and delete them, I guess, but make sure to back-up the information.

Not a road, contruct a floor on top of it. It is how I get rid of them.

or build a hive and have a beekeeper go harvest the little buggers.

if they work the same as boulders, you can smooth them.  havent tried that though, and I have my doubts as they are not stone...
