surrendering
« on: July 24, 2011, 08:59:22 pm »

i was thinking but shouldn't we be able to surrender to security guards and the likes and shouldn't they be armed with tazers M through L+ gun control or business i think? this makes more sense then getting in a huge gun battle with a buch of fat and/or crazy guys that failed to become cops

1. Capitalize your 'I's please.
2. I've thought the same thing, you should be able to surrender to security.

As for the weapons they use, well... It IS a C or C+ government, isn't it, with all that implies?

Tazers are a feature which has been discussed, but nobody has gotten around to programming it.  It's pretty hard considering there is no "stun" damage in the game, or anything like that.

Surrendering to the security guards is a good idea.  Although, the game assumes the security guards work for the Corporations, and the Corporations would rather your Liberals be dead than in prison...

I'm personally in favor of allowing surrendering to security guards, but I'd like some opinions... would it make raiding the AM/Cable and other sites protected by them too safe? Or are these sites currently disproportionately risky because of not being able to surrenders? If general consensus (and most of all, Jon) agrees, I'll flip them to accept surrender.

I'll put it in with another small thing I've been working on. I'll probably commit it (along with child prostitution ban) during this weekend.

I think surrendering to security guards is a good idea. Currently, they are terrible guards because they don't even have training in their weapon (that just might be Club Security, though). I was surprised when I tortured converted a club security guard to the liberal side to realize they can't hit the broad side of a barn with their revolver.

I think that might be intentional - the guns are supposed to intimidate any offenders enough.

Probably, security guards are those guys that couldn't hit you to save their life most of the time (literally, they can get killed by anything that moves and carries a gun) but when they do hit you in the right spot they're probably going to blow your brain all over the walls.

Hi, I'm Philip C Hardass and I'd like to become a security guard.

Can you use a gun?

I've seen a picture of a gun.

Welcome aboard!

Philip got promoted on his fourth day for shooting a dangerous loiterer.

Liberals can pass out from pain and need to be carried, if I'm remembering correctly. That could be a way to make tazers.

I think tazers should follow the heavy wound and failed conversion tactic. Instead of saying "X vomits up blood" or "X questions his beliefs" it could say "X is stunned with pain!"

It's done - security guards will allow surrender in the next release (or in the current Subversion if you want to compile it yourself).

Perhaps they should only carry a real gun and have skill with it at C and C+? Better yet, at C and C+ they have an actually dangerous tazer.

I would think at L+ to M they would only taze you if you resisted. Assuming they're just failed beat cops, they'd probably prefer not actually fighting you and that you come peacefully. Depending on what you did, they might just escort you off the property or detain you.
