Because I know some of you were curious.  Turns out one map edge is just as good as another!

(ps the weird graphics glitch is from ghosting related to drawmode)

He he he.  Yeah, it almost looks done...  alas...  those who are in your teens, hold on until your twenties...  those in your twenties, your thirties...  others, cling to life as you are able...<P>It should be pretty fun though.

Looks that way. It's quite amusing when merchants decide to leave your fort through the depths.

Also, congratulations on what appears to be the start of a depths colonization effort.

Ciamthi Nutshores travels through hell to deliver his elven goods.
You beter let him trade with you. They might be Hell Elves, cursed things that prance around hugging deadly creatures because there are no trees in hell. Hopefully.

Unfortunately, he didn't enter that way.  Don't think they'll do that.

After offering them charcoal (twice!  only "fed up" the first time), I explained that there was a siege in progress, and the way they had entered was unsafe.  Well, not so much that there was a siege, but that there might be a siege at any moment.  In any case, there was potentially dangerous wildlife out there, roaming the surface.  I think.

Unfortunately, Cimathi and company decided to take the path through my heavily trapped silk farm.  Elves can't bear to be caged, no point in freeing them now.  Not sure I have the mechanisms left for it anyways.

Thankfully for Cimathi, the silk farm wasn't that heavily trapped.  He made it off the map edge just fine.  I'm sure he can find the way home.

I'm reminded of the pilot in the flight that landed in the Hudson.  Have you heard the audio of that guy?  He's the boss.  There is no other way to say it.
"Yes, air traffic control, we have both engines currently on fire and losing altitude."
"Alright, you can turn around and land, or you can go ahead to New Jersey, we can have an emergency landing strip open in 20 seconds."
"Nah, I'm going for the Hudson."
"Say again please?"
And then he just SHWOOP and lands it pretty as you please.

That's the elf trader.
"See, we got us a siege outside, horde a' gobbos with whips 'n bows."
"Alright.  Going through hell.  See you next spring."

This takes dwarfism to a whole new level. Flooding the depot with magma is now minor league. Making the elf literally walk through hell, that is like playing baseball on the moon.

Cimathi: Ho, there, friend dwarf!
Urist McTrader: You're a bit late, points.
Cimathi: Had to take a bit of sidetrip after the last stop. Anyway, enchanted, ethical, so on.
Urist: Bit of wood, good. We can use that. Fiber, alright. Less pig tail to be pla... wait, is that meat? Since when do you carry meat?
Cimathi: Oh, we had to forage a bit after the last stop and this was left over. Try some!
Urist: Hey, this is actually pretty good. What is it?
Cimathi: Ass fiend liver.
Urist: *eleven minute spit take*

We laughed when we saw the elves leaving through hell.  We cried when we saw them coming back with slade shields, adamantine swords, and demon scale armor.

Elves, they can't even be trusted to burn in hellfire properly.

Hence why dwarves have to help them out
