For better or worse, people are already talking about this in this thread here -> http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=89414.0

Are you really so worried that you started a thread about this? I think he's already read plenty about everyone worrying for his health. If he wants to change something about his life, he will. People on the forums he's never met whining about his health isn't going to help much.

It's actually a bit insulting to him, thinking a fully-grown man can't look after himself and shouldn't make his own life choices.

On the other hand, I'm a bit along your thought process. When I first read the article, I was slightly horrified. "Can he really live long like that!?" But it seems he's getting along just fine. Getting most of your daily calories from soda isn't exactly healthy, but he's alive and will be for a while.

I'd like to donate in general (and I, too, am too young for a serious job) but not to help Toady in response to the article. At an average of $30,000 a year, there's not much he can do to significantly improve his living conditions; but even if he could, I doubt he would. This is the way he wants to live for now, so you should probably let him live his life.

I laughed when I saw this thread, after reading so much about this in the article's thread; I also felt a little sorry for both you and Tarn's health. Simply enough, there's not much either of you are going to do to change or improve the situation. Not being negative or anything, that's just the way it is. Let him be, man! (And sorry if this post made little sense, I'm on late-night soda fuel, which does the opposite of help me concentrate.)

All the same, if pity is what it takes to get more donations, pity Tarn's health all you can!

My house has 5 cats.

Then they are still in the early stages in conspiring against you. Chances are they are waging war against each other for total control, and in their zeal have forgotten about you.

Buddy, if you're worrying about the Toad's health issues, go take it to another forum.

I'd think the Toad's forum would be best to worry about the Toad's health issues. Although, spreading info over the internet about this "great mind in need" could rack up some significant donations... That's always useful.

I'm deeply concerned for your spelling capabilities, antymattar. Don't most browsers have an automatic spellchecker nowadays?

I echo this sentiment. Toady is a big boy.

Yes I have a spell checker. Does it also check Latvian? Ā pag, tas taču ir uzslēgts uz vienu valodu nē?

Also, I'm not saying that we should tell Toady what to do but it just seems wrong that he is living of soda.

Yes I have a spell checker.

Ah, I suppose you just ignored it then.

I don't see what that has to do with anything, unless you misunderstood me. I meant the feature that checks spelling. I didn't mean something that translates text.

Also, I'm not saying that we should tell Toady what to do but it just seems wrong that he is living of soda.

"I'm not saying we should tell Toady what to do but we totally should."

Erm, no, I don't think so.

Can we not argue tonight?
If Toady enjoys living like a plump helmet, kudos to him! If somebody is worried about Toadys diabetic vampire lifestyle, kudos to them too. Let's all hug and not try to hurt each other.

If someone lives remotely close to him, you could cook up something and send it over to him like a mysterious cooking mama.
