I've addicted a couple of friends by posting on Facebook about the crazy crap that keeps happening in my fortresses...

I blatantly stole it from somewhere... Not sure where actually... >_>

Also is it normal to have the "Escaped Lunatic" titley thing? I've never noticed it before.  ???

Dear Armok, how are you going to explain the mermaids?

I got friends to start playing just by telling them about that.

It's normal. Just post a few more replies in the forums to get promoted to 'Bay Watcher'.

Look, even the story of how mermaids got devalued is worth telling--other games nerf things, weaken this class strengthen that one.  Dwarf Fortress is the only game , now or ever, to drop the value of mermaid bones to prevent imaginary mermaid genocide via complex engineering for in-game profit (obviously you can still try for fun).

Dwarf Fortress! Where fake you too can commit digital genocide for fun and profit!

I managed to get a friend interested by talking about it. He downloaded it and stopped playing after 5 minutes because he didn't know what he was doing or what anything was, and nothing had graphics. Of course he now hates the game and my offers to teach him how to play (or show him to a graphics pack) were ignored. So that didn't go so well.

People on another forum interested. At least three more Overlords shall attempt to colonize lands in the name of Armok.

Would it be wrong to organize an operation to conquer other gaming forums in the name of Armok...?

My mind is abuzz with plans.
