Juanito was lame compared to the Tropico 1 guy...

EDIT: Wait, Juanito is the dork that reads stuff out loud to you, tutorial-style, or one of the assholes in the radio? I can't remember.

Juanito is VERY annoying(at least to me), in the Absolute power expansion they gave you an edict that gave you the ability to shoot him. It works

What? you shot him? That's cruelty beyond description. I'm curious, what happens after he dies? Does he get replaced by an even more annoying broadcaster (woo!) or what?

He dies, permanently. Betty Boom shuts up for three years out of respect for the dead, there are no rebel attacks in those three years. Also everyone thinks you're a dickbag.

Of course, Betty Boom is considerably more annoying that Juanito, as far as I'm concerned. I'd much rather silence her permanently. Juanito can stay, so long as he learns to count assassination attempts after the 18th.  :P

If you could do that it'd be the first edict I'd issue. I've often wondered where exactly the rebels secret base is (with a radio set no less). It'd have to be underground, the island isn't that big. Also, I like to occasionally find secluded vantage points where you could take a shot at El Presidente on the map. There's usually more than one. God help El Presidente if the rebels ever figure out how to use a sniper.

There seems to be a rather small amount of people who actually like Juanito. A shame, really. He was a cool dude, unlike that rebel bitch.

Definitely going to pick this one up for sure.

Yeah, I really like Jualito. He's a toady, but he doesn't seem to realize it and he occasionally has some backbone.

My only real problem with Juanito was how loud he was.  GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING TROPICO!!!  I wanted to strangle him with my own hands; not kill him, just mute him.  Betty Boom, yeah, she's a bitch and I wish she'd stop trying so hard to find things to complain about.  Get a hobby, jerk, this island couldn't be running smoother.

Although game play would most likely not be that different, I wish they went with a two vibe and not a three vibe, always liked two better.

Am I really the only one that loved both Juanito and Betty? Betty was kinda funny when you're running a liberal paradise, then she's basically the island's lunatic that nobody takes seriously.

I enjoyed Tropico sense the very first game, and I greatly enjoyed Tropico 3, as well.  So I'm sure I'll greatly enjoy Tropico 4, as well; aspecially with the new bits they're adding.

'Looks like an expansion for tropico 3 rather than a full sequel.'

I kinda have to agree. I'll probably try it anyway though, just because I enjoyed 3 a lot.

Yeah, *looks* the same. Personally, I don't care about graphical improvements, and the new gameplay features mentioned in that preview sound absolutely amazing.

Slightly related, but yesterday I saw a news blurb somewhere that said PopTop(who made the original Tropico) got bought out by EA.

Part of my soul died.

I do love to hear her moan about people living in squalor when there's one or two shacks only because the bastards refuse to move out. There was this one stretch, between the 50's and 60's, where I'd caught and killed the only other rebel and she spent the entire decade warning me of my coming downfall. She musta been lonely.
