Create a hilly terrain between the lake and sea (next to marsh.)

Create order "Shaggoloth" through command avatar 2 points
Command race Build the city of Shan. 10
Advance city of Shan in the knowledge of war magic 8

The race of the Darkness, the avatar of the god Shade, are the Ner'hyur, the "dark ones".
Their feeding habits are ascerted, they live in together, and they die together, there is no such thing as "self", but no such thing as "a hive mind" they obey the orders of the Shaggoloth, the commanding cast, they are the war priest of The Darkness, and are chosen at birth, because the gas they exhale is poisonous, for others, but not for the Ner'Hyur. Animals of the desert wither and die, dehydrated, in a couple of minutes, if they stay close to a Shaggoloth. To speak clearly of their way of thinking, a mother has to take care of two childrens, one is it's own, the other is of her sister. A sand worm appears to eat one of the two children. The mother will save the children which has the most possibility of becoming a great warrior, mage, or who is a Shaggoloth, no matter wherever or not it's his own or her sister's, and will do so with no remorse. And the sister will not hate her for having left her children to die, if it was the inferior one.

By order of the God, related through it's avatar and it's priest, the Great city of SHAN, "Gate", is built! half of it resides in the blackish and sandish black fog desert, called the Naruim, "Abyss", the other half resides at the base of the rocky mountains, which are called by the Ner'hyur the "Shalaska", "Sky".
It's city is at it's beginning, but the great god Shade has deemed his people worthy of the knowledge of war magic, capable of shattering enemies and rocks alike, and useful in battle and for building deep tunnels in the bowels of the mountain, to extract mana crystals, which are considered as jewels for the Ner'hyur. Little do they know the constant use of them is what makes their magic stronger than normal, and the avatar "the darkness" follow closely the Shaggoloth, the order he created for the will of the great God.

Religion of the Ner'hyur.
It was written on the sand, and thus forgotten.
It was written in the wind, and thus forgotten.
It was written on the rock, and thus remembered.
We are the Dark ones, followers of the Darkness, who follows the Shade.
We are the creators of Shan, followers of the Shaggoloth, who follow the god.
We seek the shadow from the sun, to use it for our own.
We seek the darkness of the night, to shroud ourselves in it.
We worship the will of the Shade.
We are born for war, we are created for war.
But The Shade does not want war for it's children.
The Darkness will look upon us, and we will look back.
From the depth of the Abyss, to the height of the Sky, we are the DARK ONES.
WE WILL SURVIVE.

The cult is based upon the survivance of the many. The people are trained for war, yet taught to practice it only as a defense, however, once practiced, the order is absolute. There is no thing as "White peace". you anger the lion, get ready to be mawed to death, exterminated, and everything you hold dear destroyed.
We seek to be left alone, and we seek to prosper. We are not prone to anger, but will not be toyed with.
We have hardened skin, and are apt at war magic, yet even war magic we use for a better future, we use it to shape the mountains, or create vast structure. The city of shan is created through it.

The city of Shan.

and there it stands, tall like the tallest of the towers. Building made of rock and sand and glass and fog. Mana crystals near it, scattered next to the center of the village. One on top of the other, one next to the other, no order is given to the city, because the order is the city itself. We will survive. United, we will.

ps: hope you didn't mind this Rp.

Oh yeah, I popped in Ultimuh's trench and reef as well, hope that's okay. I also changed the look of the tundra as it's supposed to be all flat lands.

yes, but they'd spend a shitload more of points.
like 10+.
so why spend 18 points to control another race, when they can have their own? >.>

Several reasons, being spiteful is probably the most common one.

yes but even then, the original god just spends 2 points and everything goes back to the norm.
more than distasteful i find it strange somebody would actually order, and not go with a cataclysm.

Oh.... Oh!... yeah, that is odd looking isn't it? This any better? Instead of giving it depth it's just a darker blue now. And I added a couple branches to maybe make it less, er, weird.

Naturally bd could change it to whatever he wants it to be, but I'm hoping this might help him get through the turns a bit faster. :)

Also, Shade, I think the point is, the game isn't a competitive game. It's a cooperative game. So another person might team up with you to help your civ do more than it normally could, or yes, command them to do something crazy if they think it would make for a cool back story element.

yes, and that would be appreciated, however, i was pointing out how Cooperative gaming is easier to achieve instead of Competitive gaming in this type of game.
Sure, you can apocalypse stomp everything if you keep points, but what's the point?
i find it quite enjoyable like this, and my race is all set toward peace goal achievement. >.>
