Because whenever the overseer tells a dwarf to feed them, the following conversation happens:
Overseer: Hey Urist, can you go feed the cat-
Urist: What?! Have you gone daft? WHY DO YOU WANT TO FEED THE CATS?! Are you trying to kill the fortress?! Do you work for the Elves? You work for the elves! THE OVERSEER WORKS FOR THE ELVES!!!
Overseer:-tle.

Why doesn't pitchblende have any effect on the dwarves?

The lever is very long so it allows a single dwarf to apply 5 tons of leverage.

How do cage traps work? Someone steps on them, bam, he's caged. Even if it's a huge forgotten beast/giant/titan/dragon. Teleportation or what?

Because they are web immmune, and immune to their own syndromes, and, being so conceited and self centered, judge all creatures against themselves.

If kobolds survive exclusively by stealing food supplies, why do the insist on stealing XxPigtail ThongxX instead of the plump helmets and strawberries that nobody would notice going missing?
