Because it's hard to find halberds, the perfect fusion of an axe, a sword, and a spear/pike.

Why is it hard to find halberds but easy to find various swords?

Blacksmiths are lazy.

I still don't think anyone ever explained that one town I had where there were like twenty monster layers with replicating leather and multiple bronze colossi that made my FPS drop to 0 nearly always. I think it was called Spicyparched. Dwarven story tellers go~!
