Making pond turtle explode when threatened sounded like the perfect way to make hand grenades, unfortunately it has some nasty side effects on the turtle population...

So what happened to the mussels?

Giving a quadruped wings would mean it has six limbs, and only insects have six limbs so if dragons had wings they would technically be insects instead of lizards...

Does this mean cave dragons are technically insects?

You simply haven't found the key dwarf yet. Keep a lookout for any dwarf overfond of cats, elves, or nobility. :p

Why can't vampires fill their waterskins with blood so they don't have to hunt so much?

Because of the strange properties of leather, waterskins, blood, and their necromantic curse, the contact with the blood and magic causes the leather of the waterskin to grow fuzzy white hair and the blood to congeal into pudge. Thus, the fluffy wambler was born.

Still lobbying for permission, but I'm a lowly freshman who has yet to get a professor hooked or explain why it's a valuable research project.

Because they may possess the power of perpetual motion, but they have yet to master sailing. So no sea travel to warrant shanties.

Why have dwarves harnessed perpetual motion yet not managed to harness power from Tantrum spirals or !!Thermonuclear Catsplosions!!? Or even pitchblende reactors?
