Are you sticking with your commands, or do you want to reconsider after finding out about the subway station?

But DRINK some of the alcohol before using it as an explosive.

Bloody heck, already?!

The First Battle

Tom had just taken the first steps out of the gas station when he saw the most shocking sight of his life. A shambling monster with flesh hanging off the skin, and a distinct greenish tinge to its skin. Its very presence was enough to make him want to throw up in disgust, but he knew that now was the time to be brave, to attack the creature with all his righteous fury, but something held him back. Perhaps it was cowardice, perhaps it was wisdom, perhaps it was the fact that run-mode was on, but something held him back. Nonetheless, it was one zombie (and a squirrel) how bad could it be? So Tom gripped his baseball bat and prepared for war, or did he wipe off the dust from his sneakers and run away?

At first I read that as zombie squirrel, and I was about to say gib it with the bat.

Now I know what it is.
Throw the squirrel at it and run like you're on fire.

Retreat into the gas station and make faces at the zombie from the window.

Or charge, both are good.

hm, one charge, one impossible command (there's no catching squirrels), and one hide/charge. What to do, what to do...

The First Battle (continued)

Bloodlust consumed Tom as he charged the zombie after a moment of hesitance, and just as he was beginning his charge, sweet guitar music came streaming in from nowhere, creeping him out considerably. It also took away his bloodlust and replaced it with a mellow attitude, man. He continued to approach the zombie, but this time more cautiously, looking out for the rogue guitar player. Just as he was about to swing his bat at the zombie...

He saw two more zombies (and the squirrel's gone)! One just to the SW, and another far into the distance. This immediately changed his plans as he fled back to the gas station to hide. Somehow.

Just as he was running away, he heard more music, this time more dramatic. This music player sure has a good grasp on timing.

He ran into the gas station with his incredible speed and closed the door, thanking god that he forgot to close it when he had first left the building, and he immediately proceeded to the window and had a strange urge to taunt the zombies just as more dramatic music started playing. The zombie shambled closer and closer to the window, with the zombie's compatriots coming not far behind...

Cliffhanger! I've got to go, and just in time too. Can anyone solve to mystery of the music while I''m gone?

How long will your MP3 player's battery last, anyway? I don't recall you grabbing the spare battery from the house. And the game wouldn't be half as interesting without random music.

Also, having not played this game yet: I want to see dead zombies! Er, re-dead zombies! Or at least a dramatic retreat tactical repositioning to a more secure location, that's good too.

Well, Thexor got it, it was the mp3 player. I don't see a battery in the inventory, but I could look for batteries if it's really that important to have the music.

The First Battle (Finale)

Here they come! The first zombie bashed open the window with a rotten fist. Tom grasped his bat and prepared to hit a home run. Which he didn't, but he did manage some solid hits while the zombie tried to crawl through the window.

The sound of vocals streamed through his ears enhancing the "learning experience" of trying to hit home runs on zombie heads. He hit it again, and again, and again, each time a little crunching sound coming of the zombies head. He was about to draw back for the fourth time when the zombie fell forwards and to Tom's left (South) through the window. And then it was dead, but he was exhilarated over his first kill! but there was no time to gloat. All right, maybe a little time.

Anyway, the next zombie was shambling its way to the now broken window, and Tom could hear the sound of the crowd cheering hallucinations starting (if only I had picked schizophrenic). He took a swing and he heard the sickening crunch of a zombie's bones breaking. He swung again and an arm came sailing off in an arc, and he wondered either how loosely zombie arms are attached, or how strong he was that a bat could dismember. He swung two more times until it fell down, never to get up again. Again.

The battle was over. And the dramatic music was playing again. Did he hear "Ride of the Valkyries"? Anyway, he didn't have any tool to butcher the corpses, and he didn't see a reason to anyway, so he checked his map again, and prepared to leave for greener, safer pastures.

This is actually the exact same map as last time, as Tom hasn't actually moved anywhere.

Where to go next?

A. The liquor store its probably still safe. Even though that's where the zombies came from
B. Leave the zombie-infested city
C. Epiphany Time! Hallucination Time!

Go to the topic about it and it should have a link to the windows version. The one by Whales is Linux only.
