Defragmentation

Could running a defragmentation my hard drive cause DF to run any faster? I know this isn't directly related to DF, but meh.

No. DF loads (almost) everything into memory upon load. It'll really only benefit if you have less than 1GB of ram, but the effect that defragmenting will have will most likely be negligible.

I have only half a gig of RAM, so it could maybe help. Besides, I am just kinda clearing up my PC.

You should probably defrag your computer at least once a month.  It'll speed up the loading of the game and the saving of it, I am sure, but not incredibly.

On the plus side, the whole computer will run that much faster as well, since the it doesn't have to take as much time reading any given files.
