Prisoner never released
« on: September 03, 2006, 11:46:00 pm »

I had an idiot noble mandate construction of some jewel items using materials I hadn't seen hide nor hair of.  Obviously, it didn't happen.  So when the mandate expired, a sentence of imprisonment was decreed against my jeweler.  Except that I didn't have any jewelers, having foreseen this nonsense and conscripted them all into the army.  So instead one of my marksdwarves got it - he may have started as a jeweler, I don't know.

Anyway, he was never released from his cage.  Eventually went berserk.  Still in the cage.  Will probably still be there by the time the goblins finally overrun the place.

Also, I've not been a fan of flooding immigrants, but for future fortresses, I am building one particular noble room that will include a floodgate.  As soon as any obviously stupid mandate (platinum?  star sapphires?  when I'm not across the chasm yet?) gets made, the noble responsible gets a change of quarters.  There's no reason to put up with this.

I think the 'not properly released' thing is a known bug -- at least, I've mentioned it here before.

As per demands, nobles will ask for things they like. So check their profiles when they arrive, and if they're particularly finicky...
