Just need Whisperling for the loot test now.

Explain to the vindictive dream that I never actually stole his headphones, just ended up here with them with no idea what they did.

Try and land a follow-up attack with my sleeves while I summon a sci-fi robotic tiger with claws excellent for carving.

Turn Whatever: Bloody Vindictive Dream
« Reply #514 on: February 13, 2017, 03:13:35 pm »

Have my soldier shoot OceanSoul with a real, working bullet this time. If he cant, I'll shoot OceanSoul. If my soldier shoots at him but he doesn't die, go kill him with my bare hands. If my soldier kills OceanSoul, go after Whisperling.
I resist the Vindictive Dream with thoughts of loud concerts, annoying neighbors, immense amounts of coffee, etc. If I go down into the Vindictive Dream, I bring down Beirus with me. If he goes down, I try to enter his body.
Explain to the vindictive dream that I never actually stole his headphones, just ended up here with them with no idea what they did.

INIT:
Beirus(16)
OceanSoul(71)
Whisperling(48)

OceanSoul and his ever loyal steed...

Ever galloping. Ever running. You know there's something behind you. You know. You know it isn't real.

"Do YoU? dO yOu ReAlLy?"

>Resist

(4) Coffee! Music! What have you! There must be a way out of this! Your eyes pull away. Your actual eyes. This isn't real. You know that. Just need to push.

"No, YoU dOn'T. yOu WoN't."

Whisperling, all alone...

>Exposit

(1) You elaborate on the exact means and manner in which you stole the Vindictive Dream's headphones.

As you knew you would.

"WaS tHaT sUpPoSeD tO pLaCaTe mE?"

(4 vs. 2) You feel claws raking across your back, and you know that this is real.
~~~
Beirus remains conscious, however. The order was simple.
Soldier Accuracy(6) vs. Dodge(unconscious!)
Bullet Damage(6) vs. Resist(6)
The bullet fired. Like a brilliant javelin, it streaked towards OceanSoul's head... and bounced off.
I really wish OceanSoul got a 1 to resist. Oh well.
Clearly, that wasn't a real, working bullet. Beirus snatched the gun from his cartoon minion's hands, leveled it... (willpower: 5-2=3) ... tried and failed partially to push away the vindictive dream... and fired.
Beirus Accuracy(1-1=0) vs. Dodge(unconscious)
Having a stationary target didn't stop him from missing horribly, though.
Beirus noticed something.
Beirus Willpower(5-2=3)
His hands and arms were becoming cartoon like. Bother.
Beirus Willpower(5-2=3)
Perhaps, though, this kept him awake. (-2 to resist, next turn)
Soldier Willpower(1)
Though perhaps it was only the changing that helped that, given his soldier minion suddenly fell unconscious.
Host Intervention(2)
"Huh. Well, we'll see how this plays out. Maybe then I'll interfere."
I hope the gun becomes cartoon-like, too. Then it'll only pop out a flag with the word "BANG!" on it when it's shot. Should be quick, since guns have no willpower...
Continue resisting the Vindictive Dream- It's a dream, after all, so it can't be real.
Lament how shitty these bullets are. What kind of bullet doesn't even deliver the kinetic energy from the shot. Damn faulty, non-American made bullets. Shoot at the same guy again. These bullets can't all be duds, right? If the bullet is a dud, again, then go club OceanSoul's head in with the gun.
