Please tell me there are no new achievements or unlocks using the Lost. It was enough of a pain in the ass getting Real Platinum God (or is it "!Platinum God!"? I can't keep them straight, or maybe the name changed) last time, I don't want to go through all that again on an even harder difficulty.

I think he made changes to the Lost but TBH I have no idea what they are.

Lost has spectral tears by default and starts with the D4 I think.
I just unlocked The Lost, and it doesn't start with anything other than flight and spectral tears.

There was a patch that added/fixed a tonne of stuff today.  Most notably there's a large amount of "new" items, the greed machine can go past 109 and ending 17 actually works.

Azazel has also been massively nerfed (apparently they accidentally did it too hard and will revisit it) while Lilith's activated item now takes twice as long to charge to make it slightly less absurd in greed mode.  Also some of the items that broke Greed Mode in half (eg IV Bag) now cannot spawn there.

I'm trying to get through challenges since a) I've played the main game to death already b) I've never done them and c) I want the Runes for the occasional secret room that's packed with them.

Head Trauma is giving me a headache though. It wouldn't be so bad if you had Treasure Rooms and more stuff to funkify your tears and damage. You don't get them though, so you're relegated to the grab bag boss upgrades and whatever else you can pull out of each floor. It makes killing anything take forever, and the odd enemy like spiders are really good at getting through the circle of tears to damage you.

Also, I think Fruit Fly is bugged right now. There's a couple tear mods that when it rolls them, they become permanent. I ended up with an unthrowable knife that only pointed backward, and R U WIZARD? It almost completely ruined the run, but two revives (Lazarus + Ankh) let me get through the Dark Place with just one heart container. (And saved me at the very end of the Lamb fight when he Brimstoned me as he died.)

Saw a couple other new bugs like the fight over music playing when Haunt's minions would die, despite the fight not being over yet.

The way to win Head Trauma is to get Coal off Krampus.  It gives a flat damage increase on your tears based on the amount of time spent in the air, and since you have millions of tears that spend ages spinning around it suddenly turns your tears into a whirling maelstrom of death.

The permanent effects are new transformations.  You get a trailing knife if you collect 3 "Mom's" items, and the permanent R U a Wizard? effect from picking up 3 familiars.  On the plus side Tractor Beam turns R U a Wizard? from a horrible drawback into a double damage powerup.

I beat Hush, so I'm pretty proud of myself. What a tough battle. It was a bomb-centric run, considering I got Pyromaniac on the first floor, then got Burning Bombs shortly after. This run is also the first time I picked up Tech X and that's... interesting. I don't know if I like it more than the other Techs, but it was cool to try it out. And I did beat Hush with it so I guess I can't complain too much. :P Also I got the Lucky Rock early on and Leo at floor 3 so I was rolling in dough for most of the run.

I'd only ever gotten Lord of the Flies before, and I thought? that transformation had a message (I know it had an achievement.) I don't recall any notice about getting either of those two transformations, and I guess they don't have achievements?

Anyways, that blows about familiars. Used to be you could collect as many as you wanted. Now having more than two can potentially wreck your game, or at least make it unfun to play. That basically equates to more "nope not picking that up" items in treasure rooms for me.

I ended up winning the run with R U WIZARD? transformation because I got some tech that turned my tears into two giant laser orbs that flew all over the screen. Still, it was not fun to adjust to it up until that point.

I guess that means you haven't become Guppy yet?

Collect any three of Guppy's items (Head, Tail, etc). It's probably the most broken of the transformations (in terms of "this is now a winning run" breaking).

I just had a room that was impossible to finish due to Head Trauma. Wall spiders with a pit in front of them prevented my tears from reaching them even if I ran straight at edge while shooting.

God I loathe this challenge. It combines two kinds of play in BoI I hate: short range combat and indirect aiming.

Finally beat it. Piercing Shot really removed a lot of the annoying problems with the combo, and Mask of Infamy kept my HP losses down.

Got this game sans expansion a few days ago. Just beat Satan for the first time. Got Ludivico technique, Holy Mantle, Placenta, Halo and some other stuff I don't remember as Azazel. I must've gotten Mitre, too, and maybe something else, because there were too many soul hearts for me to deal with. I think there were 20 soul hearts lying around in the boss rush room when I got done with it. Ridiculously good item haul that run.

Ludovico + Azazel generally = winning run. Ludovico is so good, it's probably my favorite power up. I just wish I'd get it more often. :\

Well, I beat this a while ago by doing an angel room run, somehow leading me to getting sacred heart :D.

Also, finally beat the Lost not long ago, when along came Afterbirth.

This game, man. I was like "oh, joy, sacred heart with technology, that's gonna work"

holy shit i didn't think it would work this is the best thing ever

oh then i got tiny planet and the bible

i think i'm gonna beat mom's heart this time, heh

EDIT: Cain run with flat penny, too, so 50/20/40 coins/bombs/keys

EDIT 2: Actually a satan run, since the devil room happened to spawn after mom's heart. Nice.

that's my 5th mom's heart run and my second satan run

i kinda want the lost but there's not much guarantee of me getting to sheol since i don't have it lives yet....
