even at the heart, you cant just place it on the boss, as he will spawn adds and hide.
as greatorder said, its pretty much impossible to controll the tear and isaac for anyone with unseperated brain hemispheres.
i hate ludovico. its one of the items i hit R if i accidently pick em up.

Actually, that (probably) has to do with a concept called task-switching (and multi-tasking). It's a skill that you can actually learn. (but it also starts deteriorating when you turn 20, which is frightening) However, by training the skill for a month, even people over 60 got better at it than 20-year-olds. So, do not fear, embrace the Ludovico Technique and keep at it, it's good for your brain.

Here's the abstract of an article about it. They tested this skill by building a game where you have to do two different and difficult tasks at the same time. I'm actually building a similar game (PM me if you want to try it) for my Bachelor's Thesis in Computer Science. I hadn't noticed this connection to BoI before, maybe there's a way to mention Binding of Isaac and the Ludovico Technique in the thesis, hmmmmm....

Anyway, Rebirth is pretty cool. I finally found out how to get to the boss rush and started unlocking those items. Currently at 139/178 achievements. Progress is slowing quite a lot when I'm not retreading the original games content anymore.

P.S. I also stopped playing on hard mode for now. It's really hard. Also, I'm not sure if there's any unlocks in it besides beating Mom's Heart on hard with every character.

The heart/it lives only spawns extras when there's nothing there to shoot so that's really fine. Ludo takes a bit of practice to get used to but it's definitely a great item. Unlike Monstro's Lung which fucks you over hard if you get it early and don't have the damage to make it 1shot everything or the tears to make it charge fast.

The Heart actually kills its own adds too. The second plus wave of guys it spawns, about 75% of them tend to die to the heart's shots before they even start moving.

Basically, there are three things you want before getting to the Womb:

-Lots of Hearts
-Sick damage
-Missile defense like Halo of Flies.

Typically you will have two of those three, and that's enough. Having 1 of those 3, in my experience, is a recipe dying at the Heart, at Isaac or at Satan.

I think Monstro's Lung is pretty great usually.  Its burst damage is good enough for regular enemies and you can usually give bosses a full blast, which does plenty of damage.  The main flaw is that it doesn't seem to synergize properly with some items (eg as far as I can tell Triple Shot just slows it down without improving the attack).

Monstro's lung can be good, but it's also a game-ender if you get it early before you get much by way of stat ups. The reload time on it is killer, and it doesn't add a lot of the benefit of stuff like brimstone which comes with free spectral tears.

I've got it as my first item and it's been fine, you just need to adjust your tactics a bit.  I play it a bit like how I'd play Azazel.

azrael frustrates me. i have beaten the boss rush with most chars now, but azraels rage just makes him so suicidal, and he has no health.
maybe ist just because i suck to hard for him tho. ??? seems to be above my skills too.

You need to play him in a more hit-and-run style.  Keep away from enemies while you're charging, then swoop in and annihilate them.  Remember to use your flying to your advantage by putting rocks between yourself and ground-based enemies.

For bosses you generally hit them while they're between attacks.  You do so much damage that none of them will last long, I'd say he's by far the easiest bossrush character for this reason (and probably the easiest character in general).

yeah. the bosses are rather easy with azrael due to the high dmg. but he just takes so much damage from exploding enemies, or stuff that fires a shot when dying.

yeah! they seem to trigger much more often when the target is close.
i pick this thingy up every time i find it, just because i hope for this hurts so good thingy for total hillariousness, but so far no luck.

in other news, i just did the boss rush and isaac with azrael.
i found that cats head with had turned into brimstone cirle of doom, and just one shotted everything with it. like, even isaac.

Bob's Brain is super obnoxious too. I won't even pick it up when I see it, not without Pyromaniac. Because who doesn't like a thing exploding on a dude who gets struck at point blank range, and dealing damage to you. Sort of the same with BBF. Less obnoxious than Bob's Brain, but when it is a collision course with an enemy standing right next to you, it's as much of liability as it is a help.

Doublepost, but, Anti-gravity Tears and Mom's Knife do not stack. Part of me knows it'd be an unholy abomination of OP, but the other half of me is like "Uhm, yes? Give it? Give it naow?"

Mom's Knife and Little Planet DO stack though, and it might be the worst damn combination in the game.

Does taking black hearts and red chests from deals with the devil give you a lower chance of getting angel rooms, or is it only if you take an item?
