The update has been delayed due to steam server maintenance, according to edmund's twitter.

Sorry for the doublepost, but for anyone still up, the update should be downloading right now or fairly quickly.

I would avoid getting the ouji board Brimstone power up if you have the laser eye, it seems to take away your ability to shoot. Ruined a really good playthrough...

Just checked his twitter because it's slowly becoming reflex for me for some reason and he said he's fixed some brimstone related bugs so hopefully the update tomarrow will squash that.

Aye, I just bugged out on a pretty decent looking run as well - the whole game crashed after I tried to take some pills in an arcade.

I've gotten so addicted to Isaac - it's another one of those games I love so much, but just like DF - completely defies explanation to "non-believers" about how good it is...

For those interested in buying Binding of Isaac, rumor has it that the next Humble Bundle is going to add it...

Unless the game patched when I wasn't looking or I just got lucky, you can avoid the slowdown issue during the final boss fight by turning mute on and music off before you enter the boss room. Figured I would just throw that out there.

EDIT: Oh yeah forgot to mention, beat it with Maggy first, then Judas. Four more to go~ I'm think I'll clear it with Isaac next.

I got the bundle for $5, which converts to about £3.20. Was the Binding of Issac in the steam sale? Since that was the main thing I bought the bundle for, and whose developers got most of my cash, I'd feel a bit silly if I could have got it cheaper earlier.

Pretty sure it wasn't, but I think he mentioned adding it to the christmas sale at some point. So if you feel like waiting two months for probably 10-20% off a five dollar game, feel free. :P

EDIT: Bug fix update just hit, for anyone that was having problems with that.

What age would you say this game is appropriate for/ESRB-type rating would it get?
Reason being is that I share my Steam/Desura with my 12 year old brother, and I need to know if I should tell him not to play it/watch me play it.

Hrm.

That's kind of a toughie. It's just gross/sacrilegious enough that if he gets what the joke being made is....it might be inappropriate. How do you think your 12-year old brother would handle killing living polyps in Mom's womb?

On the other hand, it's got enough layers of cute to tone down the grossness/scariness that you can overlook a lot of it.

It's got enough creepy imagery and other stuff that if your brother is sensitive to those kinds of things, it might not be good. And if your parents are sensitive to that kind of stuff....it's definitely not good for them at that age :P

Yeeaah..

That was kind of tasteless.

Seems like they could've just started with the whole "Isaac found a trapdoor that lead to whoknowswhere" and left it at that, but alright then.

Tasteless? Really? I thought it was pretty funny. The "religious parental abuse" satire is spot on and it ties in well with the feel of the game. Being told to kill others for God is not uncommon in our modern world, nor has it been uncommon in the past, which is sort of why the humor clicks.

Awesome, thanks for the info.
It's less of my being worried about his well-being (I know what goes on at that school every day ._ . ) as to, as you said, if my mom will kill me for him noticing it in my account and playing it.

I wasn't sure since I've heard bad things about Super Meat Boy..game sounds hilarious though.

I've watched the trailer/intro on YouTube...I have to agree with deb. It may seem quite tasteless to some people, but it seems to be quite serious and funny and dark all at the same time.

Welp, I managed to clear it with all the characters except Blue Baby. I only need to get no damage in the caves and the depths and I'll have golden god. I usually ignore achievements but I think I'll make an exception this time.
