So I think the game is, even with "Everything is harder now", much easier than the original.

Yeah, it's true. You should indeed try hard mode. You'll be gnashing your teeth in original Isaac style in no time at all!

Considering that everything on normal can be unlocked on hard, I'm suprised that not that many people seem to playing it. Only around 1% of players have beaten Mom's Heart on hard with most of the characters. I have just Maggie and ??? left.

Though I'm considering changing back now. I had a 5 win streak too on normal. Now I've died twice to Isaac and it'd be nice to get the Polaroid at some point.

I played normal because I assumed it would be at the same difficulty of overall BoI. I didn't realize it was overall more generous with drops. And now that I'm on a roll, I kinda want to keep it going, despite what I said above. I'm liking this enough I'll be happy to play through Hard Mode once I think I've tapped out normal.

Plus I like failing currently because it's usually my fault that. As opossed to being royally ****** in the ******* ********.

Maybe I'm not remembering the original fight correctly, but I thought it was easier because bumping into his hoofs doesn't hurt you.

BLARG!

Managed to get a devil room after beating mom's heart. Get to Satan, and we do a mutual kill.

he's harder than I remember.
I thought he was harder, too. I remember him being a lot more passive in the second-to-last phase, but now I was really hurting. It was great to be completely overpowered, if I had to play that match fair, I'd struggle.

Broken Remote is the worst item ever made. I'd argue it's worth removing from the game entirely. Randomly teleports you out of the current room when you take damage. Number of times I restarted the Mom fight before losing? Six.

Well it's a trinket, so if you don't like it then just drop it.  Although actually it only teleports when you use your activated item as far as I know.

e: You might have confused it with the Cursed Eye.  That's certainly annoying, but the trick is that it only teleports you if you're hit while charging, so as long as you can release your shot when you're about to get hit you're fine.

It can be either, you can tell by whether there's a ladder visible in the hole.

Then it must not have been that, but it's the only thing I didn't know what exactly it did.

Another fun discovery: Sin Hearts don't take damage from entering or exiting the Devil Rooms.

Wrong. Must have been something else, or a bug. But Sin Hearts do refill from Soul Hearts, not just other Sin Hearts. So if you have half a Sin Heart and pick up a Soul Heart, you'll have 1 whole Sin Heart and half a Soul Heart.

As I've played more and more I've started to notice what I think is a pattern: you play and play and get a set of items that works together, and then you get one item that basically overwrites everything. Brimstone, for example, overwrote My Reflection and the Piercing Tears/Speed Zodiac Item. Now, that's just one example and Brimstone has been shown off with other stuff. But it seems to keep happening to me. It wouldn't be so bad, but there are other sort of dead spots in the item interactions. Brimstone + Wiggle Worm = Squiggly Brimstone. Brimstone + Ring Worm = Brimstone. I guess there's a limit to the hard coded interactions they had time to do.
