Badgers. The most bloodthirsty creatures devised. The demons of hell and the champions of goblins alike cannot rival even one of their number. Deadly, with blood-dripping teeth they scour the map. Any unsightly dwarves in view are ripped to shreds, and sometimes they'll raid your fort just because fuck you. You cannot tame this creature, its immense evil is too great to be contained. Not with 10,000 dwarves could you do this. It is folly.

Now I want 200-300 badgers in one cage set in a tunnel towards hell, (IN CASE OF EMERGENCY BREAK BARS) then we shall know who's stronger hell itself or the demons.

I got fed up with my fortress, so I decided to kill everyone (abandon is for elves) with a cave-in.

OK, cave-ins were always pretty deadly, but with the new falling object damage they are downright brutal.  As far as I can make out from the logs, many people were killed by the flying bodies of other victims.  One baby's corpse ricocheted off three other people, two walls and the floor.

then you could move the cage to a room floored with grates that are hooked up to a lever...above a pit floored with repeating spikes.

Or there is the classic "sealable room full of badger cages set on a lever release that is used as a reception area for sieges, traders etc"

"We're impressed with your more ethical...wait, are those cages full of badgers"
*Urist McDwarf pulls a lever*
"Have they kept you pent up all this time Mr. Badg-"
*Unintelligible screaming and snarling*

Now you have a room full of blood, dead elves, and some really pissed off badgers.

Dwarf fortress: where badgers are considered WOMD.

I think they would, being that they're a wild animal and elves would be considered merchants.

They're badgers, just looking at them funny sends them flying right into the realm of unbridled fury.

Badgers? Bah.  All they do is get enraged and scare your dwarves off.  GIANT badgers on the other hand.. I've had a newly-created fort die within a month of embarking due to them.  THE HORRORS.

The best way to tame Giant Badgers? Flood the world with magma. They are much easier to deal with as piles of ashes.
