Mind you, this isn't the minecraft forums. This is the promised land of internet forums, where everybody is good-natured, kind-worded, and honest. Trolls aren't really tolerated at all here.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

Now, spambots on the other hand are greeted like old friends.

But others might prefer to have the mess contained behind windows to avoid tracking blood all over the their nice, color coordinated floor patterns. Kind of the Ozzy Osborne vs. Martha Stewart debate.

Especially the "do your carpets need cleaning" one. It's too pitiful to really hate it...

Uh, it was one of the spambot ads that got posted here last week. "Do your carpets need cleaning?"

I wonder why spambots even exist. As if anyone bought anything they sell...

I doubt there is any volition involved.

There is in fact. By posting the same topics over the whole world in different sites it tricks google into thinking that it's content is somehow relevant, therefor pushing the originalsite with probably the same content in ranking. Its pretty low life and to some degree it even works.

I think the brutal learning curve of the game keeps the riff-raff out.

You need to make said elf leather into the most amazing work of art.  Embed it with every kind of gem you have, stud it with metals, and sew images into it.  Erect a shrine outside your fort with that in the center.  Let the elves know that you view their very skin as naught more but a medium for your dwarves to work on.

Really, I don't think the learning curve is that tough after the initial challenge, but the interface makes DF really nasty for beginners. And I'm not talking about the CP437, but simply the fact that accomplishing <task X> may take a long browsing through the menus to find.
